I have one key and there seems to be only one door to lock. How many keys are there?

I really appreciate your help but I can't seem to select weapons and use food in combat without getting hammered every time. Haven't found any laser, bow is weak af and can't afford to buy any gear right now.  Maybe if the game had an easy, old man mode, but as it is I'm just gonna quit trying.

I would be loving this game were it not for two issues: the android controls are clumsy af and I can't seem to beat any of the more difficult opponents. Any advice?

If getting to rewrite requires finding some secret stuff I'm most likely screwed, and not in any pleasant sense, because I suck at that. Any hints would be deeply appreciated.
