Hello all! I've been solo-developing this game since 2020, as my first game attempt. I took about a year off of development when my full-time job became pretty intense, and I lost a lot of faith in finishing this game. Cut to this year, and I've decided to resume work hardcore. I've revised the overall gameplay loop, and optimized a lot of the enemy AI. I'm extremely proud of what I've managed to do and I'd love to hear any feedback and spread the word! Marketing is definitely the hardest part of game-dev.

Lots more content in store for this game, let me know what you think!

Here's the itch link, and the game is also available on Steam if you're into the achievements thing.

Thank you!!! I haven't updated the game on itch in a LONG time, it's actually available on Steam in a much more updated and featured version if you're interested. I will get around to updating the Itch version as well. Cheers!

Holy moly, thank you so much for checking out the game! Did you have any issues with grabbing props? I noticed in your playthrough video you weren't moving objects, just want to see if that was a personal preference or if the mechanic wasn't working. You rock!

Hey yall! I just put up a 6 month alpha build of my first game. There's still lots left to do but I think this is a pretty fun representation of the core gameplay. You collect as much JUNK as you can in a level and survive until the teleporter comes online. Very simple mechanics of creating temporary barricades, attacking is kind of a secondary / last resort function. I wanted to capture a mix of fun / fear, would be stoked to see someone try it out!
Cheers and thanks for checking it out! <3

Small note / update: I made a little woopsy on the build uploaded yesterday, the music-timer script wasn't triggering properly, so that's been fixed. Playing through it without the music felt off, and at first I thought "heck it", but I do think it adds something to the experience.

I also had a bit of a eureka moment regarding enemy behaviour - they were prone to running into doors and barricades and just standing around, not trying to break down the barricades. I realized that their OnTriggerEnter function was only firing once, and subsequent fires were the result of their anti-flocking behaviour. I've instead put timers on their triggers to enable and disable every half second or so, so new Trigger events get called. It seems to be almost identically performant, and far more performant than OnTriggerStay (Im quite frankly scared to even use TriggerStay anymore, atleast in the ways I was originally using it).

TL,DR: The build now has some cool tunes working, and the enemies are MUCH better at getting to you. Cheers!

Hello! I'm getting closer to releasing a Demo of my game, Run For Your Life, and could really use some feedback and insight. I've got it tested running quite well on my two PCs but as always more data = more better. This build contains 3 finished levels and 1 functional but unfinished level. I'm curious how the mechanics feel and operate for someone not familiar with the project. Any feedback at all is super valuable and appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Updatessss.
In the spirit of getting your attention, and exploring the promotional aspect of making a game, I've uploaded a few fun screencaps of the game, as well as redone the logo / main menu / "company" art. The latest build is currently available for download and has a number of improvements over previous iterations. AI behaviour is a little better, so mobs will space out a little bit better on their own vs just stacking in place. Let me know what you think!

Hey all! This is my first attempt at a game. Would love any feedback on the current build, I'm having so much fun making this!

More info on the release page. Basically, if pac-man was a baseball-bat wielding space-potato, who could make barricades and blow things up.
