I personally use the MIT license for most of my open software, which is pretty normal for a lot of code in the game dev industry. As far as jams go, it is frequently up to the creators or the jam creators. I have hosted game jams in the past and I am usually specific about requirements: 'Use license X if you want to participate in this jam' or 'we don't care if you release the source or not'.

Creative Commons is great for art (which I don't really distribute as much).

Very cool game! Pros:

Great art style - I dig the vibe of the witch's shop, the models look great and everything was still readable even tho it was purposefully messy.

Great feedback - The way you highlighted what you currently were interacting with really helped with gameplay.

Great atmosphere - The theme felt consistent and meshed perfectly with the game's mechanics.

Great music - A bit spooky, light-hearted and fun. I didn't get tired of it.

Cons:

UI - I really wish that the text telling you what you're currently interacting with was by the thing you were interacting with. My eyes were like 'read in the corner, move to the next item, read that, next item, read, etc.'

Difficulty - Too Much Caffeine was practically unplayable. I'm not sure if this is possibly an issue related to frames per second, but I spent a lot of time attempting to just press down for a millisecond to move my character only to have them overshoot about ten times before I could get it to the right place.

Also kudos for adding the post-processing fx, it adds a nice bit of polish.

Hi RisingRlyeh! That is some really great feedback. And to be honest, we didn't really think anyone would play this so fast lol We knew level 3 was broken and that the aim was wonkles but wanted to put it up after the game jam. We'll put some more effort into it and give it some love! Thanks for your thoughtful reply, it was very constructive!
