you can find the peyote by going through the caves in the desert. the first cave is the one closest to the military base then. then the next one is down and to the right of the first caves exit. 

try talking to his mom in the morning then go at night and check the windows. 

try checking the down the street and the forest above the museum

I have to find them in a cave next to the shop they stole form 

you want to get up there by going through the cave you found the shoplifters in and just go through the exit on the other side.
