TYSM!!

Thank you for the feedback!  I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Oh yes, I agree- the graphics are just placeholders and the GUI is one of the ones that came with the software.  I just wanted to get the concept/basic story out in time for the game jam :p  Thank you for taking the time to play through!

Thank you!  I'm currently obsessed with the whole liminal space setting and I hope to do more with it ;)

Thank you!  Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you so much!  She did and requested a beach-themed one for Mother's Day XD

Yay!!

Huge tech-nerd here so I loved this story! I hope you continue with it!

Thank you! ;)

I made this after reading an article (NY Times I think) by Chinese author Fang Fang who wrote a daily diary from her house in Wuhan, which covered the first few days of the lockdown.  As things got worse, she kept going, posting her diaries on Chinese social media site Weibo. The Chinese government found out and would delete her posts almost immediately and began harassing her.  Her posts were later collected and translated to English and are now a book called "Wuhan Diary: Dispatches from a Quarantined City" published by Harper Collins and available on Amazon.

That's the only first-hand account I'm aware of that's been saved and translated- There were multiple other Chinese citizen journalists trying to get their story out (usually via social media) but they were blocked, hunted and finally taken away by the government.

Other snippets of the story came from various news articles by foreign journalists who happened to live or be in Wuhan at the time- like the woman pleading with guards to let her daughter out of Wuhan for chemotherapy and the father pleading to get back in to take care of his disabled son, people who couldn't get back before lockdown forced to abandon their pets and the drones patrolling the streets with facial recognition technology.

Thank you so much for your feedback!  Tyranobuilder is aware of the Linux issue and have been for years- it's just been slow going adding it (I think they have a small staff.)  I will add a browser version though so more people can play it.

About the title, it's Chinese for 'Quarantine.'  When I made this game back in February, Wuhan, China was the only place in the world on lockdown for Covid and so the story is set there.  It's based on real stories from Chinese citizen journalists on the ground that the government was trying to silence.

It's actually a program called "Tyranobuilder" not RPG Maker so I'm still kind of stuck on the Linux issue :P

The artwork is beautiful!!

I would, but the software only offers Win, Mac, iOS, Android and Browser Game in the export options.  I don't know if there is a way to do it apart from the software.  Would any of the other versions work for you?

Great job with the music & art work creating a  delightfully foreboding atmosphere!

Tu estilo de arte es unico y muy bello!

Hi, the exhibition sounds really cool!  You can email me at FireCatcher85@outlook.com :)

If you want to try, there is a free trial download here: https://www.rpgmakerweb.com/products/programs/rpg-maker-vx-ace  With your experience, you could probably figure  it out pretty easily :)

I'm looking for someone to help me finish my fan game based on Stephen King's "IT".  The basic game is built (locations, characters, story) but I need help with eventing to give the player clear objectives that lead to an ending.  The game was created in RPGmaker VX Ace so familiarity with that software is a plus.  If you want, you can DL the unfinished game here: https://firecatcher8585.itch.io/it-the-game  Any help would be greatly appreciated and full credit given! Thanks fellow devs!

I love Vox- he is so much like my cat, Prince haha XD

No problem, hope you enjoy it!

Ok I did some checking and there is a program you can download from rpg maker's site that should allow you to play the game (and any other RPG made with RPG Maker VX Ace).  There are instructions but it's pretty standard download/extract/install.  Here is the link: http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/run-time-packages

Scroll down a tad and click the big blue button that says "Download Now."  Hope this fixes it for you!

Hi, sorry you're having trouble!  I'll look at it today and see if I can figure out what the glitch is.  By the way, your English is perfect ;)

Ok yay!  Have fun!

In the game folder, did you click on the red dragon icon?  That's the actual game.

Exquisitely  beautiful game!  Atmosphere is amazing!  Great job by everyone involved!

This game looks interesting but right after the prologue scene, when the intro music starts I get this message: TypeError - Cannot read property 'location' of undefined.  Hope it can be fixed, I'm looking forward to playing :)

Thank you!

Just finished filling out the survey- the game is fantastic, eerie and mysterious. It reminds me a bit of "Fran Bow" if you've ever played that :D

Breathtaking, amazing work!  I've died twice and I'm about to go back for a third time >.<  Bravo!!

Hi, I downloaded the Windows version and when I press the start button I get this error message:

"I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

While running game code:
File "game/script.rpy", line 393, in script
IOError: Couldn't find file 'audio/voice/chiaki/ch01.oog'."

Hope it can be fixed, I'm looking forward to playing the game :)

Your art style is unique and super cute!

Are the special items things you find but don't use? Things like the silver and gold keys aren't considered special items right?

Yay! Thank you! :D

As a 90's kid I'm really loving this game but  I got an error message when Timothy is walking home from school after he passes the drink machines- something like a .png file won't load.  Hope it gets fixed so I can finish it!

Thanks! It's where my mind lives ;)

Hey there!

Thanks so much for choosing my visual novel to livestream!  It was fun actually watching someone play through it and give feedback!  Yeah, this is a very existential matrix-like story.  I was reading about the theory of non-linear time and wondering 'what if the super AI we're trying to build has already been created and is already out there- and we are living in a sim situation right now?'  Haha my brain likes to ask me questions like this all the time ;) My other game Alive Inside is similar to this one- it's about a terminally ill girl who volunteers to be the first person to have her mind transferred to the digital world. She thinks it's going to be like Lyra's world but it ends up being nothing even close to that o.O  Thanks again! Take care!

These graphics are just too freaking adorable!!

I play a lot of indie games and this one is a real standout! I felt totally immersed in the world right away which is rare. I love all the little details and the Bladerunner-esqe aesthetic. Would hands down buy a full version!

This looks amazing!! Obviously a lot of work went into all the details- I love the graphics, music and overall atmosphere- a dystopian wonderland haha!! I gave u a thumbs up on Steam :)
