i'm not taking sides(i don't even know if this is really an argument), but criticism is supposed to help someone improve and point out a person's mistakes, not just say 'this is bad' with no context. even if what you said was still considered as criticism, it would be the destructive-ish kind.

If I remember, I think it's because she never felt loved enough by Sparrowtail, who is her mother, and never got supported by Webbedfoot, her father(he still genuinely cares for her, but he never expressed that).
