Well, games war always a matter of taste. Most fighting games (including KOF and especially the Fatal Fury series) were clearly overshadowed by Street Fighter 2 at the time (which they tried hard to copy). That made good brawlers, but not as good as the original in my opinion. Samurai Shodown was really nice, but in the end just hardcopy of SF2 too. SNK seemed to copy a lot of what Capcom did at the time (i.e. Commando --> Ikari Warriors) with more or less success. Capcom was clearly the more inovative company. Really good tiltles on the Neo Geo were: NAM1975, Baseballstars Professional, Metal Slug (Series), Last Resort (although an R-Type Clone).

As I was stating in the beginning this is of course all a matter of opinion. No need to get rude or offensive about it.

Yesterday I was baffled how close the neo geo port of shinobi was to the original (compared on mister). It made me wonder why SEGA didn't support the neo geo even with their backcatalog (Shinobi is 1987). It seems that it would have been easy for them to port system 16 to neo geo and would have improved on the whole Neo Geo library. Both companies would have made money out of it....that's for sure.

At the time we would have dreamed of these games as neo geo users...

Even today I'm of the opinion, that the neo geo library consists of mostly mediocre titles.
