You've given me plenty to think about,

Fun is hard to program, I have to admit. I think next time ill spend a bit more time with games I find in enjoyable before I do  another gamejam, got kind of lost in the forest and forgot the trees y'know?  I think you're onto something with giving the players another way of dealing with the world around them through like power ups or  a similar mechanic.

I was thinking about expanding this on a more mobile platform, think it could work?

Good chance you'll be seeing my games in any future night jams you do,  a good indepth review is worth the time it takes to make the game.

All solved, thanks a ton!!!!

Yikes! Missed the deadline

My uploading was taking a minute, any chance I can still submit?

Heres the game:https://texttogame.itch.io/nebulous-tech-demo

Thanks a ton

I like the game concept. I think maybe giving a few seconds for the player to eye the room before starter the counter would be a great addition if you plan on developing further.

I ilke the  overall style of the game. Im a fan of that sort of income system where you can make players make some hard choices (health or save up for something cooler later).

Im not a huge fan of the controls(W to accelerate, mouse to change direction) for a top down. If you plan on developing it further  maybe a good ol'WASD movement  system as an option to the player.

Cheers

Antwars! I already posted my thoughts on discord, but I'd love to see a game like this further developed. GG man

Oh and improvement wise? I thought the mouse control was a bit wonky, also crouch would be a godsend for when items drop. Oh! and add a crosshair.

So I just gave it a play through (didnt win). I really like the use of the cash to display text to player, it really helps to create a sort of reveal with every object and makes things feel important. I did worry when I was placing items on the cash because it felt like I was going to get eaten (by hearts, err, sometimes top hatted hearts?).  The concept is a super new one to me, I think its got some room as well for some really different directions if you guys want to build on this.

Be it a score-attack style or a game that makes you make decisions to buy specific items while on a budget all while being attacked.  I know in real life that going to a cash at times, I try to guess the exact number for the price of the whole thing. Forcing players to use that sort of real world intuition could really help flesh out a sort of survival-shopper.

GG

Sure!

I think a maze can make a really good character study setting,  I like that decision.

Without getting into spoilers (not good spoiler tag_ tome of the unexpected humor (and the darker twist to it) made for some interesting moments. I only did the top path, and so I cant speak for any of the other routes. Interesting game.

Really liked the slime sprite! Some objects like the books may need to be faded or darkened to make it clear they cant be interacted with.

Hey, I hate to ask and I just checked out the keybindings but how do I interact with the bushes?

Thank you!

Thanks!  Just couldnt hammer out the bugs in time, they work about 75% of the time. For awhile, the goblins (the green ones) would grab one weapon and steal it from eachother and ended up killing themselves more often then not. Ill take stuck over that, but it was fun to watch.
