I understand visual novels. VNs usually have some type of minigame or mechanic that involves the user. That doesn't exist in this game. In a Kinetic Visual Novel, the player can't impact the story - take for instance Cyberpunk 2077. The story ends the same no matter what you do in the game. But this isn't a game. There's no gameplay.

My point was that there is no gameplay at all. The only interaction from the user is clicking to move on to the next dialogue, which even then is optional.

It's not really accurate to call this a game. It plays out with no interaction from the viewer. It's a story, but there's no gameplay.
