I love both ideas honestly!!!
but I think I'm going to vote 2. Spawning Season! I think there aren't nearly enough mermaid romances out there and I would love to see you make one!!

Yes of course! So I had gotten all other endings before I tried for this one, so idk if that's a prerequisite. Regardless, these choices should get you there:
- Create character
- Skip Demo? > NO
- "I'm good. How are you?"
- any food (I chose pasta > carbonara)
- Insist on paying for your meal yourself
- "Do you have any siblings?" > Distract him
- "Got any pets?" > "That's a little much"
- "Are you okay?"
- Be honest with him
- Take Liev's hand!
- Return the favour
- Say no
- Don't do anything
At this point I had 7 affection points and got Ending 6: TRUE END. Good luck!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I was waiting to post a comment here on the main page until I got all the endings and WOW you outdid yourself!!
This is truly a gem. I loved how you were not afraid to make Liev's character as dark as he should be, I'm glad you made Quinn (the MC) their own proper character, and ALL the endings were interesting and fun to experience. I loved the CGs, too, and could tell you put SO much work into them!! On top of all that, the True ending was a really satisfying way to wrap up the story. Well done.
You did a great job and should be so proud of this!! I'm proud of YOU!!!!! Thank you for sticking it out and finishing this project. <3
Nahhhhhhhh renpy is a beastie so things slip through the cracks ez. Bugs happen to the best of us!! I'm happy I was able to help you find solutions quickly!!

RE the typos: I think I only saw two, which is really great! You did really amazing with this whole thing for sure =^.^=
Sorry I don't have the exact script lines this time, but right after the line where it says "Shit. He saw right through me. But I can't act scared." the next line says "Sp I just nod." instead of "So I just nod."
The OTHER one I'm still trying to find again. Between my first comment and trying to get the true ending I got lost in the metaphorical sauce and I forgot where it was LOL it was another small typo like "be" instead of "he" or something like that. I'm still looking for it & will let you know when I finally hunt it down.

RE the music: I went and replayed the scene again and the music cut when his eyes change during the lunch the first time (when he first starts showing his yandere tendencies). But, right at the line where Quinn says "Holy shit." I thought for some reason it either cut again or switched to a more menacing/tense background track before switching back to the regular orchestral track when Quin shouts "Liev!" to snap him out of ranting about the waiter? But it's entirely possible that I just hallucinated that LMAOOOO. No big deal, in any case. It's probably not a bug. ^.^

Anyway of course no problem!!! Happy to assist & thank YOU for making such a lovely game :)
I found a couple! The first is a bug with the endings list in the extras screen, here's the exception:
```
That ^ one is pretty much the same with all of the endings I've gotten so far. The other I've found is:
Additionally, there were a couple typos I found (I'll have to go back and find them, I'll hit ya with another comment when I get the chance) & I could be completely wrong because I played the demo like 2 years ago LOL but I think there was originally some music stopping or changing or something similar (to add suspense) during the lunch scene that is no longer a thing? Unless I'm not remembering correctly and it was never a thing, haha
anyway, hope this helps a bit!
Hi!!! Another fan of live2d here! It's one of my favorite things and I think it really made Karamu stand out; that one was how I discovered your work~ I can totally understand adding in a still version for android and not using live2d for future projects (since it seems like that's a ton of extra involvement for you!!) but I definitely was one of the people enamored with it in the games you've already made & would love it if there was at least a version of them that stayed as they were.
I'll still be sticking around for all your future work, either way! Best of luck with your projects(:
I could be completely wrong but that might be why some people are saying that they can't access day 4? Because I only noticed it when I clicked "launch" and it gave me 2 options--both with the exact same name and file size--and I decided to actually check the files instead of just clicking one, which is how I realized both versions are there (rather than replacing the old version like I was expecting). Idk if any of this is helpful or not, sorry lol
Ran into the same issue. Betting they are trying to download it via the itch app. Sometimes the option to download the game isn't there (it just shows an empty dropdown in place of where you would typically select what version) and you have to open the game page on browser and download it that way. I'm not sure what causes this, but this definitely isn't the first time I've seen it.
Thank you for making this. Thank you for opening your heart and speaking out and dredging up a piece of your experience that, frankly, you didn't have to. You didn't owe us that vulnerability & you let us see, anyway.
Sincerely,
Someone else that wanted to see some real depictions of suicidal ideation. That understood it.
Stay safe.
I have always had a deep appreciation of your games and this one is another good one... HOWEVER, this is the first time I've ever hit a trigger that afaik was only mentioned in this page's content warnings (second from the last, Mel, if you're curious). Which is a bummer. I don't usually check them because I don't want major spoilers and I have very few triggers anyways. Unfortunate that one kind of blindsided me in this case lol.
Technically nothing wrong was done because--as mentioned before--it was mentioned in the content warnings on this page, but part of me wishes that there was a more visible trigger warning placed where I would have found it more readily.
SPOILERY CLARIFICATION BELOW
--------------------------------------------------------
Animal death was mentioned in a separate un-collapsed area above the extended content warnings. Making the distinction between human death (which is unclear and I assumed adult since that's standard for horror experiences) and specifically CHILD death would have been much appreciated. I have young children and just the thought of harm coming to any child is very difficult to deal with. If there WAS a more clear content warning placed in the game itself that I missed, please let me know.
All that aside, I'm a big fan of your works and I wish you the best! Have a lovely day!
Actually obsessed with this!!
The pacing is excellent, have you written short stories in the past? Truly, the story felt like it moved at juuuuuuuuust the right speed. :)
I want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT TO THE VOICE ACTORS, too!! They really brought the characters to life and made them both feel like real people. You definitely chose the right people for the job. Also I must have skipped over the bullet point where you mentioned that it was fully voiced; when Raku first spoke, I jumped hahaldasfj
I can tell you put a lot of love into this project, Chattercap, and I'm so happy you shared it with us!! also I really love yandere men 10/10 thank u for that
Hi! The original commentor might be referring to the itch.io application. You can download and run the game that way, but saves are broken for me, too, if I do. I imagine there IS a fix, since I've played quite a bit of IF through the itch app without issue, but I'm not sure what it is. Sorry for not having a better idea about what to do, but I hope letting you know might help a little bit? Either way, love the story!!
This game was such a gem! Really, thank you so much for making a game where the main female character is empowered and makes her own way despite traditional gender roles. I'm glad to see a love interest that doesn't resent this, or her, and is able to fill in and be comfortable where he is. It's truly refreshing, I'll be keeping an eye out for more!
Oh man, I'm extremely excited to see more to come! Yandere characters are my guilty pleasure (a bit of toxic obsessiveness, as a treat, yk? haha) and the demo was the perfect balance of intrigue and spookiness. I'm enjoying the art style as well, the characters look lovely. The UI/Menu font might be a bit hard for some (particularly those with dyslexia) to read, though. Excellent work, I'll be keeping an eye on this project! :)
I was really pleasantly surprised by this game!
I hadn't seen much of the promotional material, demos, or anything like that for this particular otome, so I downloaded the game without really any expectations at all. Actually, upon discovery that you couldn't change the protagonist's first name, I almost immediately uninstalled it again right then and there, haha—turns out, I really like to be able to choose the MC's name, which I didn't realize until this instance that this was the case since it's usually an option by default—but I decided to continue and I'm glad I did.
I enjoyed the pacing of each route and that the MC took her time to get to know each person. That each LI had a bit more dimension and you didn't discover what was "unique" about them right away was a breath of fresh air. I especially appreciated that each route wasn't the end-all be-all when it comes to getting to know the characters; most of them were friends or acquaintances with each other, so it makes sense that little tidbits of information about them would be revealed even if they weren't the ones being currently romanced. Sometimes each character feels like their own "island" in otome games; you discover absolutely nothing about them outside of their own route. The fact that this one is different is a great move.
All-in-all, I think that this game was absolutely lovely. The developer clearly put a lot of time and effort into this (free!) game and I'm absolutely so glad that they did. I still think that being able to change the protagonist's name would have been a great addition; I didn't think that her first name being Aya was so integral to the plot that it really needs to be the only choice, and some players (like me, apparently) are really attached to being able to name the characters when we play these kinds of games. At the end of the day though, that sort of decision is up to the developer and doesn't at all detract from what makes this game a pleasant experience. Excellent work! ♡
I've played the OG version of the game a couple times, as well as the new version. It's one of my absolute favorites, so I'm sliding in here to leave a comment for you!
- 1. Which guy did you like the most and why?
- Definitely Reksa. I'm a sucker for edgy boys, for one, but also liked the progression of stranger-to-ally-to-love. Made the bond between MC and Reksa feel real. That being said, Rama was also excellent in terms of trauma and recovery. The MC being patient with him, I think, was well done.
- 2. Do you play a lot of otome/visual novels? What made you choose to play Nusantara?
- Yes, I play tons of otome games. I chose Nusanatara because I enjoy fantasy elements, and this seemed to fit the bill for sure. I definitely was new to Indonesian culture, so seeing those elements was a welcome surprise as well.
- 3. Which element of the game would you say was the best and which ones would you say need work? Consider story, art, characters, music etc.
- I think the best aspect of the game was how realistically the MC bonded with each love interest. The slow-ish accumulation of language and cultural elements, the fact that most of the time there was a natural relationship progression.. both of those things made for a better romance game, in my opinion. Also, while not the longest or most gameplay-complex otome game out there, I think there's a place for ones that focus in on story with very little to distract from it. If you wanted to add more complexity to the gameplay (such as elements that would sort of "change the MC's personality" via certain actions, choices, or character creation options), that could be a good addition.
- 4. Do you have any other questions, comments or constructive criticism?
- Definitely loved the Indonesian cultural elements. If, in a future endeavor, you continued to delve into your native culture, please expand upon that so those of us unfamiliar with it can learn more! I'm really glad in the new version you added an encyclopedia/codex!
Thank you so much for making this game! I'm planning on making my own game, myself, and Nusantara is one of the games that encouraged me to give it a try! :)
