I understand you, there is not much time. But, I think, the best practice will be to change subtitle when any key pressed. It's not so hard to make, and gives a lot of advantages. Those, who don't want story and want only gameplay can easily skip it, and those who want to read story have enough time to read. Anyway, it's really cool game!
