Thank you!

You are totally right, that (in my words) the first and yet only demo level is actually pretty bad. It's too hard and does not take advantage of the different gameplay elements (slow/fast/jump fields and quantum-jump). The main reason is, that I have added slow/fast/quantum-jump on the last day before the jam end and then I had no time to build a good first level that uses these elements wisely. It's a shame.

After judging is over, I plan to improve the situation by adding multiple levels that introduce progressively more gameplay elements and raise difficulty slowly.

In regard to the voice overs you are right too. They can really get annoying. But after finding out that Ubuntu comes with a speech generation library (like my old Amiga 500), that sounds actually also a bit like my old Amiga 500, I couldn't resist to go a bit overboard with it  :-)

Thank you!  Little fun fact: The music track is based on the keyboard solo of a song of my band. So in case you like german indie elekro synth punk, you can listen here the original :  https://soundcloud.com/endstation-paradies/system-live

I have successfully resubmitted the game. Sorry for the complications. Not sure how this happens.

Thank you for your investigation. This is very strange. Maybe I pressed the remove button accidentally with my big clumsy fingers, while using my phone. I will try to resubmit the game.

I have yesterday submitted my game https://itch.io/jam/4mb-jam-2023/rate/2086461   but now it is disappeared from the submission list. Is there a reason why?

Thank you. I have uploaded a first version of my game: https://itch.io/jam/4mb-jam-2023/rate/2086461 .

It would be great if someone could just try whether it runs, shows something on the screen, is playable with  keyboard and plays music and don't crash. :-)

In order to stay under 32KB, I use no existing game engines or libraries (like SDL or raylib), which means on the other hand the compatibility might not be optimal. Lets pray.

Can I submit this week a first version of my game and update it optionally next week before June 1st?

I would like to do this because:

  • I would like to gather some feedback already.
  • I don't know whether I will find next week time to upload the game. But if so, I would like to improve it a bit more.
