Hello and thank you for trying!
The game is meant to be a cooking game where you serve food to a creature based on what it requests. The creature either times out or gets its food delivered by the player.

There is however a bug which I think might be what you are describing, where the creature just sorta stops working, I apologize for it. I will make sure to fix it when I patch it after the jam judging period is over!

If you don't mind, could you tell us what Graphics card you are using?

Alright, in the character selection screen you need to use WASD to navigate. Once you have chosen your character, you need to press S so that the "Cursor" moves onto the "Continue to Remix" button. We are very sorry if this wasn't clear enough and will make sure to make it more intuitive in future builds!

Are you using keyboard and mouse or a gamepad?
