Not good at feedback, but what i noticed is that your fireball shoot dont have limit. Most of time i would run away from the ball that chase you and shoot in that direction while they are very far (off screen) and would kill them. Also make the camera center on the hero, as its stand we have to get pretty close to the screen to move and when entering new areas, the enemy would simple pop near you.

I also loved the music.

Greeting everyone,

My game is composed of  placeholders but the basic mechanics is there.

I also add some invisible wall so people wont fall from the level, since the terrain isnt ready yet.

Game Title/URL:  Game Test for now.https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1EW0hcR1cc0Y0JkkyN39rGJqpDQ_pOzT-?usp=sha...

Pitch/Information: Like i wrote above, its all place holders, but it will be about some animals that been kidnapped and you have to find and free all of them before going to the exit (Plataform) marked by a blue light to win the game.

I'd like feedback on: Anything for now. Difficult / fun etc... Light composition if its to dark or to bright. I have place 2 lights and not sure if i stick to yellow or white.

Edit. I I havent used any sound in this demo so its not a bug if you hear nothing. Fixed a bug where after winning the game it would freeze and you cant exit or close.

Thanks

Vance

Day 7,

Basic AI done (Patrol/Chase) and winning mechanics and if the Ai catch you it will reset the level.

Going to focus on the the dressing of the level Blockout (greybox), then i will make the final modes with textures.

Still a lot to work ahead.

Cheers

Day 6,

Didnt had time to post anything latey but today im adding a link to a short preview.

Its all placeholder for now.

Day 4,

Slow and steady as i dont have much time, so i try to do step by step.

Anyway, i did the one layout so far using modular board game and tomorrow will start to block the modular pieces in maya and send to unreal for the greybox.

Then i will texture using Substance Design, simple shapes since it will be brick wall.

Going to make a check list to keep track of the progress. It will help me to stay focused.

Greetings everyone,

My name is Vance.

I dont have experience in making games but i have some basic understand of modeling in maya and using unreal4.

This will be my first jam and hopefull i will finish something playable even if its only the base.

Edit 1.

Yesterday (saturday) i was doing some brain storm about the theme and what i wanted to make and i always think to much and trying to do lot of stuffs and in the end i do nothing or simple put aside the project and start a new one.

But this jam i will do different, i will start like usual my ideas and features and then cut 80%. This way i wont be overwhelmed. I guess this is true to a lot of people, we want to make big stuff for games and we cant finish.

Also you know that feeling when you read or watch a video and then everthing  start to make sense? For me it feel like i placed the last piece in the puzzle.

Anyway, that happen to me after reading a post from itch and watching a YouTube vídeo.

Later i will be posting the idea for the game and mechanics  and if i have time or after the jam is over i will add others features.

Edit 2.

Its late here but i thought in updating the idea and basic of the game.

1.My goal for this Jam is to release a game.

2.Im still thinking if im making Third Person adventure or sidescroller.

3.Its about a bunch of birds or animals that got kidnaped from the reserve and they are locked inside some dungeon/castle/underground facility and its up to the player to rescue.

4.Mechanics and the maps will be simple only 2 maps (tutorial and 1 floor/level) and if time allow i will add more. For now it will be walking/Running, jumping, opening doors, finding the keys to the cages, using levers. Still undecided if i will add fight. Maybe some stealth and if the enemy catch you it will send back to checkpoint.

5.You must free and escort the animals to the exit or simple interact to free them still undecided, will test once i have the map and basic mechanics ready.

6.Time limit still undecided, maybe for hard mode if time allow.

7.Testing the map using some modular piece i have from warhammer board game before greyboxing.

8.Will be using unreal 4 engine with blueprints.

Cheers
