I watched someone stream this, for about 2 hours. Nice story! It was really interesting, and I liked how the camera did slow pans, and the animations.

The outline went through some changes and GxG romance is no longer a main component. The story is still psychological horror, but it is now fantasy instead of modern. I have updated the post to reflect this.

Hi! I'm recruiting for a visual novel project for the Spooktober game jam.

STORY

Content Warning(s): domestic abuse, blood, violence, death
Genre: psychological, horror, fantasy
Premise: After years of living peacefully in an abbey, a woman returns to her family in order to find out what happened to a childhood friend.

TEAM

We currently have 2 experienced team members who have worked together on multiple VNs before, and we already have a programmer in mind. We have found a sprite/cg artist.

• Me: writer, art direction, sfx, ui art
• Nadia: composer, editor
• Zezenia: sprite and cg artist

We need: 1 background artist. found!

DETAILS

The story outline is about 35% done right now, and I expect to complete it before the jam starts. We need 6 character sprites and around 9 backgrounds. I estimate there will be about 6 illustrations, including the main menu illustration. We are open to various art styles. Nadia and I will be available to help with the art, but the bulk of the art-related work will be done by the artist(s). This VN will be free to play, and this project is unpaid.

Hi. Currently, our team has three people: me (worldbuilding, game design), a composer, and a 3D modeler/animator.

The Game:
The game is a singleplayer, 3D, low-poly, strategy RPG with fantasy and scifi elements. We're planning to use Unreal Engine 5 or Unity, and we're making the game for mobile. We’re hoping to launch a kickstarter after the demo is finished.

Our Progress:
We're working on the demo. We’ve made progress in the worldbuilding, music, and 3D art aspects, but we basically don't have anything done in terms of programming.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for a programmer with great communication skills. We need someone to program combat for the demo (between the player character and one enemy character) as well as having the player character walk around and interact with objects. We’re patient and flexible with deadlines. Please have at least a few hours a week to commit to this project.
