people have seen an “end” approaching them if they aren't able to bring what is called "color" to their town, a concept thought out by the highest philosophers and scientists of sweetleaf. So, each character resigns themselves to their fate in different ways while the player tries to help find recourses to a machine designed to produce "color". (radical change: the very beginning of the game now should be all black and white to fit the narrative)
The player’s actions should be designed to appear like they are improving the world, but in reality, they are creating the “end” that the town fears (This being a big revelation toward the end of the game). then there will be a final screen. a boss so to say. The ending level/sequence of the game should involve the player meeting another town (in all black and white) and at that point, realizing if not already obvious that the colour invading the world is their end, not what they had feared for. If the player succeeds they help the town transform into something more colourful and beautiful than before, the end!
If the player fails the screen, the town fades away as the color consumes it, and is never seen again. until the respawn where you can just try again obviously!
