Hello. I am currently writing a visual novel called "Pathology: Moral Stroke". It is set in a low fantasy world based on late middle ages. Here is a short synopsis of the story:

Two plague doctors, Innocentius and Bazil (Innocentius is the protagonist), arrive in a quarantined district of Howling Bank, which is ravaged by a mysterious sickness called the Moral Stroke. It first makes the sick increasingly benevolent until they either starve themselves to death or inevitably die from a stroke. During the game you have to investigate the district, befriend or fight the locals, and figure out the stuff behind the plague.

If you want the full story summary, some world notes and concept art, here they are: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1PrLGsyecvIXRNijg3HMVEZPMYYDD3_KS?usp=sharing

The novel will be quite linear and not very long, most likely 2-3 hours, maybe a little more. I am doing the story writing, Ren Py, and music side of things, but I can't draw. So I'm looking for an artist to collaborate with on this project.

For now I'm planning to release the final product for free in Steam and itch, unless it turns to be extremely solid to justify a price tag. Thus you will most likely not be monetarily rewarded.

In my very rough estimates, the whole thing will need about 20-25 backgrounds and about 10-15 characters with portraits. I managed to create pretty good character art using AI, while good backgrounds are much harder to do that way. Thus backgrounds are a priority, but if you are able to make characters as well, it would be insanely helpful. I don't want to use AI art in the project if it can be avoided.

The visual style is up for discussion, for now I'm thinking something anime-adjacent but a bit bleaker and more "paintly". Honestly though whatever you make will most likely be better than what I will get on my own, so it's not a huge issue.

If anyone is interested in collaborating on this project, reply here, which is preferrable, or DM on discord (solairen).

Hello, I'm a programmer with some experience with both Unity C# and Godot GDScript. Would really like to join a team for this game jam. I mostly worked on text-based games before, so I'm a bit more proficient with data structures and UI rather than physics and movement. Can also write narrative and music if needed.
