If you look closely at the recordings, without buffer starts with (neutral, "Y", Hold 4 frames) The one with a buffer as (neutral, , 5 frames, comment: Start Buffer)

Without buffer, doesn't always fail, and doesn't always drop inputs in the same way. They are always at the beginning, neither has had issues further in.

"If you are pressing f7 to play the sequence it could be causing weirdness."

This seems to be the reason. Using a hotkey results in perfect playback, while using F7 on the same recording results in the previously experienced drops

As for the training window, it as more fluke than anything, I just had it open when I was trying to record something new.

Thanks for the quick reply!

To start, I really like the software, the ddr/midi stuff is really helping me internalize charge time shockingly fast.

So I setup the program for SF6 in Frame mode, and a few puzzling things happened. I recorded a sequence with Guile 5mp~4hp>[2]8hk.

~~First the recording consistently wouldn't record 5mp and a down directional~~ Actually I figured out what was happening, If the TrainingWindow is open with something loaded(?), A Flash Kick sequence in my case, it doesn't seem to record the beginning correctly. Perhaps until the Training's first expected input is made? I didn't investigate further but it correlates that down-back was the first recorded input and the starting input of the training file.

Second, when I have the correct sequence recorded the beginning of playback has strange issues, inconsistent holds and dropped directionals. With a little testing I found that adding a 5 frame buffer of neutral seemingly band-aids playback issues, and other than a single frame getting clipped occasionally it replicates the recording file. I have screenshots and the recordings attached.

With Buffer in Rec, still a clipped frame at the beginning but acceptable

Without Buffer in Rec, completely drops holding down 2 frames and then 1 frame of down back creating the neutral input which ruins the charge.
