Yeah, as a jam game I figured that you didn't want to hear about rough edges this far out.

I sadly don't have a recent simple thing to link to on the exploration project, but this somewhat out-of-date slide deck has an overview. It's a Python library for representing and reasoning about exploration processes in games, with a focus on Metroidvanias. Part of it is a journal format for writing down what you notice and what decisions you make as you explore, and Eyes is both small enough and complex enough that it will be a great thing for me to ask students to work through. You can see my journal file for Eyes here, and a very basic visualization of the final decision graph is here.

A great little metroidvania, with just enough stuff to feel satisfying. Excellent jam game :)

I think you did an especially good job with the world layout, the loop points were very satisfying. Also the boss design was really good for a jam game.

Gonna use this as an example for my metroidvania mapping project I think.

FWIW I'm also getting crashes, BUT I FOUND A FIX!

I was typing up this report and then when thinking about how to get a proper crash log I noticed that if you open the EXE folder from itch (thorough "manage" in the game info) and then right-click the EXE, there's an option to "Troubleshoot compatibility." I tried it and it applied some Windows 8 compatibility setting, and the game is now running fine far longer than before! Can't be 1000% sure that it's a complete fix, but seems like it's probably done it. I'm on Windows 10 with integrated graphics, FWIW.

Precise symptoms were: screen freezes up entirely but sound continues to play. Program is unresponsive and needs to be force-quit. Now I haven't gotten a crash since applying the compatibility setting and I've played mabye 5x as much as up to the point where the crashes started.

This game is great! Very puzzle-based, but with a deceptive amount of freedom. Had a great ramp up in terms of abilities and it was a lot of fun to figure out the puzzles but not too frustrating :)

I got 100% items in ~2 hours, but that's definitely worth the price, plus it has truly unique mechanics. Great game, and thanks for making it part of the Ukraine bundle.

Great short game! I played it through 3 times but couldn't find the 'E', or figure out how to explore the first downwards shaft after activating the stuff. Very nice puzzles though :)

This is great! Really nice fresh mechanics, and you've done a good job exploring the space of what they can do :)

This is, like, a totally radical game!

I got this one too and honestly it's hilarious! I mean it's sad I don't get to pet more pups but I can just restart, so don't stress about it. First time nothing appeared, just doors, and second time there was a floor for a split second and then after that just doors.

FWIW I'm playing on a Mac, and it happened twice, once after 3 dogs and again after 5. I'd slap a dog image on the bottom of the Skybox, call this a "secret", and be done with it honestly :P.

Great, fabulous, and most excellent game BTW.

This is... excellent! You've clearly put a lot of thought into the character design, and I love the colors and overall drawing style.
