Nah - it's fine - I don't handle titles and responsibilities well. :-)
I'll be hanging out on discord though ("Snebjorn")
Hi all
I'm a full-time pro software developer and hobby game dev looking for a good time with a game jam. Get in touch if you need help on any project with basically anything. I won't be providing much input in terms of overall game design, but I'll be happy to give a hand on code, testing, audio, 3D modelling.
I know my way around Unity, UE4, Gamemaker, Blender, Reaper.
The current format works great for me, but here's some input anyway:
I'm in UTC+1 so the jam runs from Thursday at noon to Sunday here, but it might not work that well for people in the Americas.
Public voting on entries might generate more interest and make it more visible in the general jam community.
Great to see this jam back in action. Hope to get an entry in, but working on my tired old laptop with a defective graphics card since my proper development workstation currently reboots at random intervals probably due to a failing power supply unit.
Fans going like crazy running just Blender and Unity (feels like a jet engine sitting on my desk) but I'll give it my best shot!
I have the perfect project for this - and will give it my best shot whatever is decided - but would it be possible to extend the time frame so it includes two full weekends? Early Friday morning is not the ideal time of the week for a final mad dash to the finish line for those of us trying to do this in parallel with a 9-5 job in a European time zone.
A Monday morning deadline would be much better - I have no problem with showing up in a zombie-like state at the day job due to lack of sleep! :-)
Thanks for the kind words. There's a lot I could probably do better now, but in terms of setting up an on-line collaboration with a complete stranger on a different continent, and finishing a short storybased game over a single frantic weekend, I'm still proud if it,
Best aspect remains John's fantastic voice acting + general audio work!
Hi all,
I'm a game development generalist with a strong coding background interested in collaborating with a pixel artist on this jam. Planning to test out some new tech ideas. Haven't got any specific game design or story decided yet, but it's definitely going to be pixel-based.
Drop me a line if interested: snebjorn at spectralstar dot com
What's up with you people??? Some of you don't want to sit through your entire four weeks? First entry just up???
You wouldn't last a weekend in my fallout shelter ...
Anyway, as it was brought to my attention over on our Discord type of alternative form of communication and survival, some people might actually want to share what they're doing along the way, so check out devlogs for early entries!
And peace - stay fun, but give peace!
I've set up a channel on the discord server specifically for posting stuff that could work as an inspiration for those working on the jam - but it's probably not for the faint of heart: https://discord.gg/rYfa9t
If you want to share anything you working on for the jam, post it here or on the jam's discord server: https://discord.gg/rYfa9t
