Isn't there a joystick bottom left and an interaction button bottom right? try the latest APK

Thanks a lot for your very kind words. Actually, if you have a discord, you can contact me at ".sugarmint" and I might be able to share an Android build with newer content sooner. Feedback on Android would help me a lot.

Hello, sorry, got pretty sick last week when I intended to release a public build. I will release a public build this week and I'll ping you.

Hello, Noctis. Sorry about that happening, I'll try my best for the November public release to fix that issue. I think it was fixed since then but I didn't release a public build in a while

Thank you for giving your reasonable thoughts on this. The issue with your approach is that there's a diverse range of content and if the players can only see what was available in the ISA, they wouldn't know that there's alien content as well.

The demo is however meant to be short, taking the player from NSFW scene to NSFW scene. I think there are about 7-8 NSFW scenes available right now in the demo, and each of them is supposed to hint to the player what they can actually expect in terms of NSFW content, which wouldn't be possible if only one chapter or two chapters as you say was/were available.

No NSFW scene should really be censored in the demo as it is, so I'm not sure what you mean by this. There are descriptions in-between memories as to what might have happened so the player gets an idea of what other scenes there could be.

Most people coming to this game will be here for the sex, and if most of that is removed and/or censored, they won't be able to properly form an opinion on said content.

The saving being locked, that's inspired from a demo of a very successful game, but it's not just a "personal choice", it's also a technical need because the save the player could make when they're teleported across the game to see different scenes would likely have bugs when loaded in the full build for example.

I'll think about it, maybe the demo for the Steam build will be different. If you're a solo dev and you try to provide an incentive for people to support you in getting anywhere near completion of the project, you have to try different ways because as it was the public builds weren't really doing anything at all, because people could just wait.

Gutted the demo version? The demo version wasn't meant to be "here, you can play 90% of the content for free!" It was supposed to hint at the content available in the full content builds which it's still doing by showing some post-ISA content as well, but not in a linear way that would remove any kind of reason to even consider supporting the game because most people aren't going to pay for something that offers the same thing they can get for free.

There'll be a full 1.0 release next year on Steam, so people who don't want to deal with monthly subscriptions on Patreon will be able to buy the game once. Anyone who supported me enough to pay for the base price of the game will also be able to request a key, so I'm not sure if what you're complaining about is maybe not being able to play the full game for free?

One person can't do so much. Even though the text game isn't actively developed there are still people playing it, so the distinction needs to remain.

The text game still has players and a distinction is good in my opinion.

Hello. You can follow the yellow arrows, they should point the way. You only need to go upstairs to the left two times.

I think that might be because I'm making the game run by default at the highest resolution when you start it for the first time, because many players weren't picking the highest resolution and were seeing a low quality/pixelated version of the game.

And no worries, you didn't seem grouchy and I appreciate the bug report because my goal is to have a very polished game in anticipation for the next year's Steam release.

I can try to check on first startup if the user has an ultrawide screen, or at least instead of defaulting to the absolute highest resolution to instead default to the highest resolution that's not ultrawide (16:9 ideally, because the UI is designed for that) 🤔

I checked right now and unfortunately the foot and the shoe sprite are one and the same so I can't enable an option to hide it. Do you think having a feature where you could hide/show clothes be nice? Not sure how difficult it would be to implement though.

Hello. Thank you very much for reporting this issue, I didn't know the game is forced to run in full screen.

I apologize for having to go through all that (the command line arguments), I checked right now and if `Fullscreen` is unchecked here

Then the game will run windowed, but it won't be possible to select this while the demo popup shows up indeed.

It's strange that  Unity doesn't handle this by itself, by creating a letterbox effect on ultrawide.

Do you see the game UI entirely stretched to the edges of the monitor? Or how was the "Next" button hidden?

https://itch.io/post/10471265 Refer to my comment here, if you'd like to pay only once but for the final build then it'll be possible next year when I'll be preparing for the Steam release, these "monthly" releases are more to support me as a solo dev since many people prefer this over Patreon.

These releases are meant for people who want to support me in getting to a final build of this game (with all the content meant for Gaia, the planet you crash on), obviously the final build which will be released on Steam next year won't have any payments per update. This is an alternative of supporting akin to Patreon, because it's pretty costly nowadays to spend time you can spend on something else developing games...

This is some sort of early access as well and an opportunity to shape the game by yourself by offering feedback, suggestions, etc. before the final build on the alien planet, after which a new stage of the game would be necessary (a sequel).

I have replied, feel free to check your email anytime!

Hey! Have you purchased this build in recently? You can send me an email at sugarmintart@gmail.com for a newer APK because this build is a bit old.

The reason why I haven't yet updated it was that I was afraid of introducing new bugs in a new release, but the newest releases seem to be fine.

I tested the same APK on my phone and it's running fine, sadly I can't ask you for logs because by default logs won't be generated on an Unity android game.

What I can do however is build a new APK with a more recent version of the game with a different rendering pipeline and unity version.

Could you please send me an e-mail at sugarmintart@gmail.com ?

I will send you the newly built APK and we can see together if that works fine, it might be more efficient/performant than the APK in this post.

Sorry to hear that, could you tell me exactly what happens? Does it not load at all? What Android OS are you using and device model?

If there would be enough demand in terms of support (financial one as well), with more "manpower" as contractors the development of the text game could also be resumed, but currently there's not enough to make that happen.

I think I have discovered the issue, I will update the builds in the post.

Ok, but was the error showing up when you were trying to open the zip file or after you extracted the files from the zip?

MacOS is a bit of a mess for games lately. If you don't mind, could you tell me what you tried to do to make the game work? Did you extract the .zip before you tried to run the app inside the MacOS folder?

Can you try these instructions and let me know? Apologies for the inconvenience.

1) Open the Terminal app.

2) Copy and paste this command into Terminal: chmod -R 755

3) Then drag the Malevolent Planet icon into Terminal. When you release the mouse button, the path to Malevolent Planet appears in Terminal

4) Press return.

5) Malevolent Planet will now run properly when you double click the icon

Hey! are you on Intel or apple chip?

So the public build has these platforms:

  • Windows
  • MacOS
  • WebGL
  • Android

The patron build also has the same platforms. Wait, what apk are you referring to? It appears by accident I left a previous apk downloadable, but it's not supposed to be there so I disabled downloading for it. Now only the part 1 will be seen for the android platform.

All the platforms at the time were part one.

That's pretty strange, I just gave it a try and it loaded successfully. Did you get some kind of warning if you want to extract or run this file the first time? Maybe it didn't extract something that could've led to the logo freezing.

No worries, your english is great! Thanks for the nice feedback on my game. Yes, the art wasn't done by anyone else.

The issue you mention about the art matching with the main character's hair color, I'm aware of it, but it couldn't be done.

Right now I'm developing the 2D version of this game, because I wanted to give 2D a try and the codebase of the text game was very big. Give it a try if you want https://sugarmint.itch.io/malevolent-planet-unity

Hmm that explains it, I'll have to try to save and see if it serializes the score. Thanks for checking it out again :)

No, I frequently ask patrons/people to send me their wishes/desires to see a new release for the text game but I rarely get them so I am trying to continue on with the 2D game's development because it appears to get more reach and the 2 games can cross market each other due to different audiences (text game players, 2d game players) groups that don't conjoin very much.

Well then it's very strange indeed. If you'll ever replay that sequence, if it's not too much of a bother can record a video. There's only one last possibility, if you saved and reloaded during the minigame and it didn't save the "happy" patients score.

Do you remember a guy who told you he'd guarantee you a good score/ending if you did him a favor? Do you remember what choice you made there?

Different faces would be very difficult indeed. In the text game, we had customization for body type (curvy, slender, etc), skin colors, hair colors, eye colors, and some people found it jarring when scenes wouldn't have their custom character so that was the issue. Probably for a 3d game it's a bit easier... Hair colors and hairstyles aren't that difficult and they're not that jarring, eye color can be a candidate as well but anything beyond is a bit difficult.

I was doing some testing now and I picked most of the favorable choices and it led me to this. When you succeeded in the rounds, did Morris congratulate you or did he seem tired?

If it was ever possible, what kind of customization would you like to see? Hair colors, hairstyles?

Yes, there's no way to download saves on the browser version because they're saved in the local storage in the browser and it's a bit messy. I'd try in the future to make it possible to import/export saves in WebGL.

I'll check it out and see if everyone's happy if I still reach the bad ending, thanks for the report :)

Sorry for the delay, I was on vacation. The standards for getting a high score are pretty high I remember, you need to not really make any mistakes. If you want, can drop me a save right before you talk to Morris and I can check what the score was.

No, it's very difficult to account for customization in scenes sadly.

With the Shar'nul fight, you have to pick a bunch of correct choices in order to bring it down. I think the fight was meant to be slightly punishing, so you may need a few tries to win it >.> The choices you picked before the fight matter too
