The save game folder is called "itch-cave_game.itch_0.indexeddb"

Deleting that folder will erase your save so that you may try again.

This is such a weak cornball response to a developer explaining the limitations of their development.

My Review.

This game is alright. $10 is quite steep for the playtime and content offered here, but I'd consider ~$2.50 if I was to buy this. I beat the game in 2 sessions composing of an hour each.

The visual style really reminds me of older EGA/CGA computer games, and the chunky pixels of Sega Master System and NES games. The OST is mostly composed of ambient techno, with very abrasive samples in the mix of music. For the most part, the presentation is alright, but very abstract. Weapon, enemy, and general sound effects are alright. There are some minor particle effects as well.

The game play offered is a basic platforming FPS. The enemies don't offer much of a challenge at all, and there are a total of 5 weapons to use. The weapons also double as a key of sorts, which was pretty neat. You will need different weapons to destroy different barricades as you move throughout the environment.

The game did not crash or show any form of errors while playing on my Zotac Magnus en970, and I also tested this out on my older laptop with Intel HD 4000 graphics.

The story is very light, and consists almost exclusively as found logs. The only exception is the end, where you speak with a human. There is no voice acting, and the story is explained completely via text.

The ending mostly concludes the story, but does leave it open enough to develop a sequel.

3/5, I wonder if there will be a sequel to this one day.

My Review.

FANTASTIC rendition of Doom on the PICO platform. This felt like what Doom would be if made for the platform, which is awesome, and also more than what could have been said for the 32x port. The visual style really reminds me of the wizardry involved in making the SNES port.

+Style of the game is true to the source and reference material, from sounds and art to weapons and enemies. Everything involved is made for the PICO, so all of the material is very low rez in nature.

+Short, completed it in 2 sessions within an hour.

-Progression of difficulty and resource management increases quite a bit in the last 3 levels. New weapons and almost all of the buildup of supply for the final boss is in the last level.

~Compared to the source (which isn't fair TBH) there is quite a few missing features. Things like vertical aiming, jumping, and powerups are all not here. This is a PICO game, and is amazing to see in the first place though. This isn't a negative point IMO, but worth mentioning.

5/5 Good game, must play if you are a PICO and Doom fan.

Fantastic recreation of Doom for the PICO platform. Played to the end in roughly an hour, and enjoyed it the entire time. If you have any way to accept a tip, please let me know and ill send you a couple bucks USD. :)

Just completed the game, and came back here to mention it was alright. $9.99 is a little steep for the content on offer, but I also don't make games so I have no idea what it takes to make something like this.
