I don't know how it was in older versions, I just downloaded a0.8.30, and all pirates are unarmed, they have weapons control on their ships, but no actual weapon. They have no shields, also.
Also I uploaded extended windows version (necromanzer_0.1.3_win10.zip) that maybe will not be detected as virus, you can try to run it, but I can't guarantee it works
It's false positive alert from AVG for all PyInstaller apps, as I understand. You can add it to exceptions in your antivirus or run game from source (you will need Python 3).
