Why make a Game Jam?

fair enough. I’ll start focusing on tutorial kind of levels next time I do a short Jam like this.

Did you replay the game and how was your experience?

The engine I used was GameMaker.
I am an absolutely terrible coder. I’ve just been trying to figure out how to improve my ability to Design Games for about three months.

Call it my new years revolution!!

Thank you for retrying my game.

I truly apologise. Did not explain well that dashing left or right generates speed. The point is to generate speed to avoid the bullets. You can dash using all arrows up down left right.

Please play the game again. You are missing a very crucial aspect of the game.  2 dashes left or right 1 dash up or down.

Dashes reset after touching the ground.  And when you're done please comment again on your experience.

I’m very proud of this game.

The game was built to cover the weaknesses I possessed with coding and game design.

Without forcing the S press or the ice slide the game will just be a generic platformer.

Will work to build a game that highlights my strengths?

S holds the same value no matter when you input S.

There is a limit set for how cold the red block can be.

For your questionings; yes they would have made the game better. I should have looked into changing the value of S based on the state of red block.

What about the melting mechanic is difficult to understand?

I'll comment on my experience

I felt frustrated. I felt cheated into a forced defeat(audio before inputs are removed could be helpful). At the end of the gameplay for the most part is about feel. And I felt the need to quit the game after colleting  two coins on the right side of the map. The need to constantly check both space, A, and D while just trying to go to the left was counterintuitive.

If you forced me to platform my way to the other side, by needing to use all three button presses to find the coins it would have made for a more enjoyable experience.

Do you like puzzles?

Thanks for the chat spanning a full day.

I kept experiencing frame drops whenever the camera had to load a single sphere moving right in front of my face. Then gets worse the more spheres moving on my location

Their was a statement at that top left stating a overflow some number of frames ago.

Love the game. Fix the frame drops

I agree. Music makes or breaks the game. Harry worked hard to make the time to work not this game.

That sucks on my end, looking for additional support. But whether you just don't want to or you're trying to protect your priorities, I salute you sir.

Love it

Like the gameplay. It was challenging. If the player could decelerate in air after letting go of movement keys, it would not be so difficult.

Stranger to stranger.

Good work.

Good work.

Thank you. I will continue with this game when I find someone I can reliably work on this game with.

I hate how good this is. Such a simple game, executed well.

I'm struggling with the game. One level jump was taken away. Can't find a way to get it back.  I restart from the beginning, and on the same level A stopped working. I couldn't find any way through the level in both instances.

I really liked the jumping.

I do think I jumped over an enemy in front of the box that gives A back. But there was no way to get back to the box.

I was just confused about your game but the more I think about your game the more I like it. I didn't like the execution of your game. 4 stars. Keep Growing.

I appreciate that.

geum is my discord name.
