Hello, thank you for checking out Evasim and I apologize for the very late reply!

Does the issue occurred when you tried to download the file or opening the file?
If it refused to download the file because your browser detect it as a virus, usually there is an option to keep the file if you're downloading it through Chrome. I just uploaded the zip version of the file, you can try downloading that one and see if the same issue happened.
If you can't open the file after downloading it, you need to extract the file first. You may need to install WinRaR or 7zip in order to do that.

I hope this helps!

Thank you for checking out Evasim! Based on the screenshot you showed, unfortunately you just got the Bad End. I explained some stuff about the "ending issue" and the way to reset the game in this devlog.

(spoiler alert from this point!)

The cause of the Bad End initiation is usually when you had to delete "the file", you deleted it at a wrong time or when the game is closed. I recommend to delete it only when she's waiting for it and do not close the game to reach a more satisfying ending.

I hope this helps!

Thank you for checking out Eva and documenting it!
I've checked your streams and I love your reaction/commentary throughout the whole journey!

Unfortunately, yes. It's not that many but there are a few jumpscare points at the second half part of the game. Most of the scare was DDLC-style glitched audiovisual and one scare with (probably) the most eerie imagery in the game.

Thank you for checking out Eva and I apologize if she made you cry- ;v;

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :"

I can't stop to think that the head look like a flying tadpole, instant 10/10.

Thank you for playing the game!

Woah, you recognize some of the reference! It's the first time someone points that out, I'm so happy! >v<

Oh no ... you got the unhappy ending didn't it? :"
There's a way to restart the game if you want to try again!

I see that a lot of people got stuck on finding the good end, so if you're confused or, well, stuck, feel free to ask me questions~!

Thank you! >v<

I think? xD

Thanks for giving my game a try too~!

Yep, I admit that this game is not 100% perfect, and most people struggled on getting the nice ending. I'm really sorry for that- ;v;
I'm proud of EvaSim and so far it's one of the best game that I've ever made, but hopefully I can improve and get better on my future games~!

Put the file exactly inside the character folder 1 day after you went through the credit scene and get the error message.

Do you love her and want her back?

Well, spoiler alert~

There are 2 different error message that will be displayed based on what ending you got.

If you're getting this exact error message,

it means you got the Bad End, and yes, there's nothing you can do on this point beside resetting the game and start over again.

Hello, thank you for playing the game!

I'm really glad that you actually had a feeling for Eva ... and I really appreciate it! That's the main purpose of the game: can people had/develop a feeling/empathy for someone/something that is so far, yet so close, even if it's unreal?

So, I'm going to give you a few more hints! If you still had any questions, let me know!

The points that I wrote below contains MAJOR SPOILER about the game story and mechanics.

...

...

...

...

  • No matter how many affection points you got, it won't affect on the progression of the game. It will always be bumped to 999999 in the "character breaking" event.
  • Although this game had indeed an RNG elements, it was a minor feature and not determining the final ending that you'll got.
  • The only time you want to delete Eva is after Eva told you to do so; when the game's unresponsive and she's waiting in the void without saying any words. This scene happened after the "jumpscare" event.
  • When you're deleting her, do not leave her. Keep her with you until the final moment.
  • If you want to reset the game and start over from the beginning, follow the instructions that I put on this devlog.

I hope this will help you to reach the better ending!
Again, thank you for playing the game~!

Thankieeess!
