It's called Pollywog Plant, it is related to the lore behind The Creator, making up a theory that he created the Pollywogs using the magic of this plant creating the critters we all find around the wilderness.

For anyone looking for a challenge and have beaten the game thousands of times like me, i made up some challenges for you to try to beat the game following the respective challenge's rules
-Pacifist Route: Don't hit ANYTHING, if you pick up a weapon dont use it! do not even hit a prop or break something, to get across the gate without breaking it find a way to get on top of a tree and jump over the wall, don't kill enemies you won't fail if you hit them and leave them alive, enemies dying by something that is not you won't count and dragon's kills also don't count.
-Genocide Route: KILL EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE, NO MERCY. Break or submerge every cube, bridge, barricade, tree and brick walls you see, you also need to tip over those giant stacks of cubes that avoid you from skipping areas (yes that's possible), the blocks surrounding the gate won't count, i couldn't find a way to get rid of them, kill every enemy, even the ones from the optional paths that don't lead you anywhere, there are some exceptions during the dragon chase, you don't need to kill the enemies there since theres too many and the dragon will obviously kill you before you do all of that, same with the props except those who you can still outrun the dragon just going through them like the barricades at the very end you must break those.
-Speedrun Mode: Beat the game in under a minute and 45 seconds (you figure out the shortcuts and major skips), you don't need to kill or spare anything, only beating the game as fast as you can counts.
-No Checkpoints Mode: Pretty explanatory, don't get the checkpoints you can skip right through them, if you get one you gotta redo the whole thing.
-Stealthy Mode: Don't get spotted by any enemy, except those you can't get through without them noticing you, enemies in dragon's chase doesn't count.
the barn is a checkpoint also a teleport to take you back to the start of the wilderness (the graveyard) and the big entities also spawn the same each time you respawn there for some reason its confirmed by me since a elite giant stroll fiend would always spawn at the same place with the same color patterns when i respawned there.
