Thank you for the very sweet message :) You can get to Miranda's route by choosing "The Scholar" and then heading to the library. There's also a full guide to the game on our tumblr now.
Afaik you need to hold down ESC & the refresh button while you boot up your laptop, but I'm surprised it's asking for developer mode. Maybe it already works if you start the game with administrator rights and disable your malware defender or whitelist the game in it. But I don't have a lot of experience with Chrome OS.
You mostly need to pick the options antagonise her. There is a guide to the routes on our socials now!
:/ Someone else has had the same issue and hasn't been able to resolve it, but try any of the following:
- redownloading the archive. Make sure the download finishes and don't close the browser tab until it has.
- upacking it with 7zip instead.
- repairing the archive with WinRar or 7zip.
- temporarily turning off your malware defender.
If none of this works for you, maybe you can play it on a different device if you have one available?
You have to download "com.teamavia.residentlover-release.apk" and then install it with an Android file manager, and you will probably have to confirm that you want to install an app from an unknown source. You may also have to turn off some security settings on your phone, at least temporarily.
If your phone is not an Android, then you will have to play one of the desktop versions. It's only available as a mobile game on Android.
I hope this helps!
The download section is at the bottom of the page, right above the comment section. Make sure that you are choosing the right one for the system you're using! If that doesn't help: what system are you on, and what exactly is the problem you're experiencing?
The full game is out now, so you may want to download that instead!: Resident Lover
There is no known issue relating to Windows 11 specifically, but if the game has issues with launching, it may be a graphics issue.
You can try switching the renderer the game uses. For this, you hold the shift key during start-up or shift+G once the game has launched, if it can launch at all. Then try the different renderers from the menu.
If this doesn't work, you could try running it as an administrator, running it in compatibility mode or checking if the game is being blocked by your antivirus programme. If none of this works, you can try reinstalling your graphics driver as it could be caused by a faulty driver installation.
For Windows, Mac, and Linux, you first neet to extract the file you've downloaded. You can use, for example, WinRAR to do that. Then you run the Resident_Lover_Demo executable from the extracted folder. If you are on Android or Chrome OS, you will need a file manager to install the .apk.
If this doesn't help, do get back to us with info on what the issue is and what operating system you are using.
Thank you for the detailed response! Also glad you enjoyed the music, and we love it when people notice easter eggs.
On the feeback:
- There is an updated version of the demo out now that addresses some of these points.
- More NPC sprites will feature in the full game. For the demo, leaving them out was a conscious choice. Since LIs are being priorised, not all NPC sprites are finished, and we decided to only use the ones for the LIs at this stage.
On the game's features:
- The map will serve for navigational purposes in the full game. Since the demo is just a linear progression through chapters, the map is not active yet.
- There will be unlockables and achievements.
- More café options, including tea, will likely be available as well.
I'm sorry this is happening. Unfortunately, I am not sure how to fix it. It could be a compatibility issue with your graphics hard- or software. There is a known issue that the game shows up as frozen in the output file when trying to record video in fullscreen, but I can't be sure those two issues are related.
