Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the little details, they're one of my favorite things to add. I love environmental storytelling. And I'm glad you found the snowman and his hat! That was new in Build B to round off the maximum possible amount of joy.

I thought I fixed all the passability in this build, dangit! Ah well, there will be a "Final Project 1 Last One THIS ONE Actually This One REALLY2" build coming--I watched Trihan's stream and there were definitely some minor bugs/typos that need fixing--plus I left a cheat in from my second round of testing, OOPS.

I'm beginning to think that the games I make are simply too cute for your tastes XD Thanks for playing in spite of that!

What an adorable game this was! I used to love time management games, but I haven't played one in an age--it was a delight to revisit one! I loved watching the booth get more elaborate with each passing shift. The middle shift kicked my butt several times! But putting on Dash solved it instantly. The difficulty curve was very good, it got more complex and faster but it never felt chaotic. The story was simple and sweet. I really, really enjoyed this game!

My wishlist for a future build, if you do one, would be a running counter for how much you've earned so far and possibly a timer for the shift, so you know how you're doing in relation to your goal.

Congratulations on a very well-earned second place in the jam, Slim! This is fantastic!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm absolutely delighted to hear that it melted your heart despite not being your preferred genre--that's perhaps the best compliment I could have dreamed of!

I'm so sorry you hit that glitch! I didn't find it in testing :U As soon as the judging period is over and my real-life Christmas tasks are attended to, I'm going to track down the source of that issue and upload a repaired build--I hope you'll play again to see the ending!

Thank you again for your kind comments, and I can't wait to watch your video!

Thank you so much for your wonderful art, Crane! Your style really suited the mood that I wanted to convey, I'm so thrilled that you accepted my commission on such short notice.

The ending. Oh, the ending--I debated so much on whether or not I wanted to go that route, or if I thought it was too heavy! But I decided to go for it. It came straight from my soul, and I think it might show.

Thank you so much for playing, and for your kind comment!

Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear that you liked the graphics--that was where most of my time went! XD Mapping (especially all the little stories you can tell with environments) is probably my favorite part of game dev, so I'm glad that you enjoyed things like the red nose on the tractor!

Ah! You hit one of the glitches, then! The triggers to check that you've completed all your tasks behave a little wacky if the last thing you do is give the carolers their gift box--reloading the map should cause them to trigger, so either save and re-load or go into a building and exit again! (In both cases, save in a second slot just in case there's any weird freezes--I've had a couple of people get them, now, but I haven't figured out what's causing them.)

Thanks so much for playing, and for your kind comment! I'm looking forward to releasing a second version with the bumps smoothed out XD

Froze coming off the Firehouse map? Uh-oh, didn't run into that one in testing. I'll have a look at it (and cross my fingers that the judges don't hit the same bug!) ...in fact I think it may have been a last-second attempt to fix a minor bug with the carolers that introduced the bug you hit! Argh! XD

If you have a chance to replay, I know that giving the gift to the carolers last (after you've handed in the toys and books) should work.

I'll double check the post office! I do know there was one in the library, so I wouldn't be surprised if I missed others XD

Thank you so much for giving my game a try! I hope you have a chance to see the end too!

Hey, thanks for playing!

To get the lights on, you'll need to go to the kitchen to get some water--go to the top left corner of the lobby, there's a hallway you can take to get there. After the kitchen, you'll need to go into the dining room.

There are actually three mushrooms to collect! One is on the grounds, two are in the hotel. One of those might be the one that's giving you trouble--you'll need to have the lights on before you can explore the rest of the building.

I hope that gets you started, let us know if you're still stuck!

Head to the Porter's Office--starting in the lobby, go right and then down. The ghost in the office will have a quest for you. Once you've completed that quest, return to the lobby and go to the office in the top right corner (to the right of the elevator). Sitting on the desk on the right side of the room is a catalogue. Interact with it, and it will bring up a shopping menu!

There is more than enough money hidden around the hotel to purchase all the items (and each item can only be purchased once, so no worries about accidentally running out!) so if you find you can't afford all three items, keep exploring! Have fun!

Hey there! Thanks for checking it out! And thanks for letting us know that this is giving you trouble, too--we've been hard at work on Build B (nearly there!) and this is the sort of thing we would like to smooth out!

The broom and the duster are purchased from a mail order catalog, which you'll find in your office after you've assisted one of the ghosts.

Have you visited the porter's office yet? He might know about getting things to the hotel!

Just wanted to say once more, thank you everyone for all your kind comments! I'm sorry I wasn't able to answer them sooner--I spent August catching up on all the things that I neglected in July (lol) and then I blinked and it was halfway through September.

I had an absolutely fantastic time working on this game, and I'm THRILLED to have made it to the final round of judging, and the top 5 for People's Choice. Thank you, Ji and PumpkinSnake! You were INCREDIBLE teammates, and I could not be happier with what we accomplished!

Thank you so much, HawkZombie! I admit I was biting my nails a little when I saw you were our first judge, since our game is so very not the horror that your introduction said you like XD But there was really nothing to be nervous about, you were very, very fair! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it--I really enjoyed watching you play it! It was great fun being able to hear your reactions in real time, and very enlightening to help find things we could smooth out!

We had a few puzzley-er puzzles in our design doc, but we trimmed them back for fear of going over the time limit! We've planning to add those back in, plus a few more, in Build B.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback with us! We really appreciate it!

Thank you for your feedback, Drifty! You've certainly given us a lot to strive for in Build B.

Since exploration was one of the things we hoped players would focus on, the grand scale of the hotel was intentional--and increased movement speed was a quest reward, I'm sorry that you didn't reach it!

I'm sorry to hear that the premise wasn't to your tastes, but I suppose you can't ever please everyone! Thanks for giving our game a fair shake!

Thank you so much, hiddenone! I'm so happy that you enjoyed it!

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us! It's definitely not just you that went round in circles looking for the broom, we've had a few comments on the catalogue being un-intutitive.  We've discussed a few ways to make it better--we haven't decided which we're going to experiment with first, but we definitely want to fix the problem. You've given us a bunch of things to discuss and polish up, and we really appreciate it.

Again, thank you for your kind comment, and I hope you'll play Build B when it's ready!

Thank you so much, bgillisp! I'm glad you had fun, and I hope you do come back to see the end!

Thank you for your feedback! We had hoped that the to-do list in the menu would make that particular quest pretty straightforward, but we may need to include the occasional reminder to check it. We've since talked about some ideas to streamline some of those seek-and-find aspects without making them too easy, so we'll implement those in Build B and hopefully that should smooth it out!

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment, we really appreciate it!

Thank you so much, Ladybug! This comment absolutely made my day! I'm thrilled that the Ghibli feel came through, two of our biggest inspirations for the look and feel of this project were Howl's Moving Castle and Kiki's Delivery Service. I'm so glad you liked the rest of the cast as well--we had a BLAST naming them! And Mr. Bagley was very fun to write dialogue for.

I hope you'll come back when we release Build B--there were a lot of things we had to back-burner for the jam, so there will be more to explore!

Thank you so much for playing, and a big congratulations on your success with Colorbound!!

Thank you so much, Thund! We tried to pay attention to all our little details, so I'm very glad you liked them! And I'm glad you liked Hestia as well--we decided to try turning the "inherited property from your grandfather" plot on its head, haha.

Congratulations on your success with Soul's Spectrum too! I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but it looks absolutely fantastic!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you so much! I hope you'll play again when we release Build B.

I see you intend to keep polishing up your own entry as well, I wish you all the best for your next build too!

Thank you so much, Alice! "Relaxing" was definitely on our list of goals, and I'm glad we achieved it! I hope you'll come back to give Build B a try when we release it--we're aiming for this winter.

Congratulations on your success with Shadows! I'm too much of a scaredy cat to give it a try myself, but your screenshots look fantastic!

Thank you, SeaPhoenix! I've always admired your screenshots when I see them, so I'm thrilled to hear you liked our maps! And our ghosts XD

Congratulations on your success with Mayor on the Run!

Thank you so much, Slim! I think we all want to stay at the Silver Willow--that bath in the Renaissance suite is calling me too, haha! I fought with getting the water to animate for much longer than I probably should have, so I'm extra glad that you like it XD

Congratulations on your success with Stray Kitten and the Magical Lantern! \o/

Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Hope to see you back when we release Build B!

Thank you for playing, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! "Cozy and charming" was exactly the vibe we were going for, I'm thrilled we hit it.

And congratulations on your project's success as well!

Thank you so much for playing! I'm so glad you enjoyed our dialogue--I think we all had a great time giving the hotel staff some life, so to speak XD

Thank you for playing! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. We had an absolute blast decorating the hotel, and I'm glad that it comes through! Hope you'll come back when we release Build B!

I'm so glad you liked it! Now where's my magic feather duster to take care of all these cobwebs that popped up while I was up to my ears in game jam? XD Thanks for playing!

Thank you so much for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Not to worry, the dust bunnies will be getting a little extra attention in Build B.  We also had the "oh no, they're too cute to chase out!" experience as we were working, haha.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it, a relaxing game is exactly what we set out to make. Astral Awakening looks amazing too, I'm so excited to give it a go!

Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! We're looking forward to Build B too <3 I can't wait to try Rebertha as well, it's been a busy week but maybe tonight I'll be able to wrangle some time!

Wonderful! Thank you for clearing that up! I took it as a given (the only other jam I've done was no premade resources) but realized I'd better make sure before it was too late XD

This may be a daft question, but I'd rather ask it than not: we can make new resources for this jam during the jam, right? Just as long as we didn't clairvoyantly make them for the jam before it was announced and started?
