I was using GIMP. Also, how do i make the images transparent? There are little black edges on some of the images.

Hi, I plan on using these in my upcoming game. They are great! I'm trying to test out how different effects look in my game engine. What is the best way to split these files? I need them to be transparent and to be individual GIF files. I know I can add transparency and crop out each individual image from the sheet by hand, but is there a faster way to do it? Thanks so much.
