how would I run as .exe?

what do you mean? I tried to run the launcher and it said "windows stopped you from playing this game then I tried running as administrator" and it did the same thing 

by the way, I downloaded the game and I can't play it I extracted it but it won't run the game

I was new to itchio so I never check the top corner i didn't know you made the game

would a virtual machine stop viruses from going on the normal PC but it would put a virus on the virtual PC?
