i am excited to try this out with friends; we have quite a few ttrpg lovers in our group, and i know this theme will be a hit with them! the art style is exactly up my alley, and everything is laid out so cleanly. i loved all the little details you poured into this world. (i also really enjoyed utilizing pixel art for your socials!)
i love games that allow me to keep items for further examination (it's the collector in me), and i really enjoyed the narrative mechanic of sending assistants out to do similar tasks with them bringing back new information and clues each time. it's true that sometimes a problem could really just benefit from another set of eyes!
the mystery was fun to solve, and characters were all fascinating to learn about. thank you!
if the bookshelf, desk, and general attic area don't seem to have any obvious clues, pay close attention to runi's dialogue -- sometimes their musings are more than just flavor text.
if the 5th symbol isn't one of the remaining ones in your current attempt, then i'd suggest thinking over the other 4 symbols and what made you so sure about their position. there might be something you missed. but we promise the answers are all in this room!
;; thank you so much, reo.
we all poured our hearts into this, and we're so happy that the final product resonates with people. you already know my particular story behind the line that you're talking about (if we're talking about the same one, and i think we are), so know that i am squeezing your hand across the world in solidarity.
and thank you for being our champion and crossword king. you live in this game's world forever as a little rascal
thank you so much for the kind comments and the feedback! if/when we update the game, we will definitely look into refining the tome's lock mechanic.
as for a couple of code hints: the 5 symbols of the password do not repeat, so 1 symbol is unused. look for items and environmental clues that depict a number or ordinal. let us know if you need more help!
