It's like pokemon. You get them low and capture them. The Main Char has the abillity to capture monsters so make sure to have them on the squad to capture them. If you need an image I'll send.
You can most likely use "Copy X" and then change their color pallete with the "Prismatic Apple" once you get the snake char.

You can also jump over the stomp leading it to not hit you because you're off the ground, And slide because that insta kills.
