The sugar cane shows the secret locations on level 8. There is two to my knowledge. What the cakes do besides healing, idk. Never figured that out.

Thanks for the quick update/hotfix of the game. The bugs I mentioned before are gone, unfortunately I found more bugs.

5. If the imps steal your clothes and then you get yourself captured, which is almost unavoidable at that point,  you're softlocked because you can't break down the wall at the end. I just simply couldn't interact with that wall to break it down. It worked if I got immediately captured by the goblins.

6.A chest in the forest in the bottom left corner just straight up crashes the game no question asked... and at that point i quit... because with no savepoint or savestates it is really frustrating to play or test things because you have to do everything over and over to just maybe find the cause of the problem or to just eliminate one variable from a long list of things that could have caused such a problem.

"What kind of bugs?" Here is a list from what i found:
1. After picking up the speed upgrade in the tavern, the character turns into a speed demon. Also worth noting, the character is going so fast that collision isn't working probalby anymore, you can go through almost every object in the game.(Note: After changing the speed value again walk speed returned back to normal)

2. Going inside caves without latern gives you the dark screen effect permanently. I have no details on this one, don't how it happened or which cave caused it.
3. Getting softlocked after being captured. I can't do anything in that cave after being captured. Can't pickup mushrooms or talk/interact with anyone inside.

4. Getting captured after finishing the tavern. Still the same problem i can't do anything to progress the game. Atleast it's giving me the mission to pickup the mushrooms but no matter what i do she does not pick it up.

You have uploaded the wrong version for PC x64. It's 0.5.2 not 0.5.4. PC x32 is fine.
