The final stage of sprint development is really exhausting. I'm glad we all persevered. This development also taught us that we should pay more attention to the scope setting in the future design process. If the scope is too large, we'll have to cut some very interesting gameplay to catch up with the deadlines, as we did this time.

Taking time out of your busy schedule to work as the lead game designer for a game is really quite a difficult task. Designers need to have good time management skills and the ability to adjust their thoughts. As a designer myself, I understand this situation. And your final presentation shows that you did overcome the difficulties. It's great to see that your game ended up with such a high level of completion. I really love it.

It's been a busy semester and we've all been very busy. To still find time in such a busy time to make new art assets is incredible in itself. If we really don't have time, we can also try to use some of the free resources available on the Unity Store. It might make your art work a little bit easier.

We have seen a lot of telemetry data since the last test. This is all thanks to the telemetry components you place in the game. This helps us collect more of those moves from our participants that we don't notice while testing. These behaviors may not even be realized by the participants themselves, they may just be displayed out of instinct. Well done, Rui!

Leads are really important. I've seen many games where the lack of guidance caused players to get lost in the game or even give up on the game. This is a priority in game design. I hope our game can be smooth in this.

The creation of interactable objects is at the heart of this game. This is not only a challenge for our art team members, but also a lot of pressure on your programming work. In particular, interactable objects are not just about the player interacting with objects in the scene, but also with collectible objects in the inventory. These are tasks that require a lot of time. Hopefully we have enough time.

I know all about utilizing free resources. I'm also going to design the two levels after that. For the floor plan of the rooms, I'm going to refer to some realistic decorating plans to make a reasonable room layout. The rooms in the game must match the personal style of the homeowner in order to make the player feel more immersed while playing.

Also as the person in charge of SFX in the group, I found it a bit of a struggle to get the sound effects to fit the vision we had for the game. Previously I would try to find suitable music on some of the free sound effects websites. But due to taking a sound effects class this semester, I wanted to try and create some sound effects myself. I've never tried Foley myself. I'd like to give it a try this time, if time and conditions allow.

Hope everything goes well with your project!

As a member of the same group, I couldn't agree with you more. Preparation for this semester is very important. Only with good planning up front will we have the right guidelines to keep our game on track later on in development. I hope that everything we have done this semester will serve as motivation for next year's development. Good luck!

Documentation is important. In fact, I didn't realize how important documentation was until this lesson. I've always felt that a lot of documentation work can seriously slow down the progress of game design. But now I realize that this is actually necessary. Without a good documentation project, game development will encounter many obstacles. Designers will get lost and even do things that deviate from the design direction. Resulting in wasted time. These are the things that need to be avoided in the game development process.

Before, Discord was just an entertainment program for me. I would use it to keep in touch with my friends, and by the way, I would play games with my friends on it every night. But now I realize that Discord is also a great office software for game development. A stable server, channels that can be accessed and exited at any time, the ability to share files, and a powerful server editing system all add up to make Discord more powerful than Zoom or Teams in terms of office support. We've done a lot of design projects with Discord before, so let's hope we can accomplish our goals this time around!

Chemistry! Yes that's the word! I've always heard chemistry between players at sports events, but I hadn't thought of it as a game development team. But now that I've experienced it first hand, I realize how powerful it can be. Especially when the team is struggling with scheduling, a good chemistry allows the team to accomplish more than expected in a very short period of time. This is one of the charms of teamwork!

Jira is a powerful software.

I am grateful that we were introduced to the power of this software through Jess last year. It helped our development team at that time to get through the project management difficulties. The fact that our team is using Jira again makes me feel even more confident about our project.

Hello, Zimu.

I'm very happy that the group finally chose my theme as the design direction for this one. But some of the points you stated during your presentation I think are also very valuable. Our game can find a lot of useful knowledge from the research you have done to add to the profound ideas our game is trying to express. I look forward to working with you further!

Hello Sile.

Having a conversation with group members is indeed a good way to go. When I first finished my presentation, I honestly wasn't entirely sure I could tell a good story about online violence. But as I talked to my fellow group members afterward, I found a lot of new inspirations. Maybe it's because different people gave me different perspectives on things.

Hi Rui, I remember testing one of your games during the first academic year. The theme of the game was very similar to the topic you have chosen now. I'm sure you must have a strong interest and very detailed research on things like climate and environment. These issues are relevant to all people living on the planet. We should create a better environment not only for us now, but also for the people in the future. This is a responsibility. Looking forward to playing this game of yours!

I really like the topic you chose and the direction of your research. As someone who has been away from the internet since I was a kid, I've probably had my moments of falling into internet addiction. But the good thing is that I have family and friends and a lot of other things going on in my life that keep me from falling into it for too long. But maybe some people aren't so lucky. I'm looking forward to your game and seeing what I can learn from it. Hopefully some of the knowledge in your game will help some of the teens get out of their serious internet addictions sooner rather than later, and have a better balance between the real and the virtual.
