Damon here.

I'm a modestly experienced, aspiring indie game dev, currently in a com-sci uni and looking to network and find new people to talk and build games with!

I personally love playing anything from small 2d indie games to big open world rpgs, although I have a sweet spot for horror games and soulslikes. I've started and worked on many projects over the years, with all sorts of gameplay loops and themes.

Here are some ideas for types of games I'd love to develop as of now:

  • creative minimalistic 2d arcade games.
  • short intimate story experiences, mostly centered on LGBTQ and mental health issues.
  • small puzzle games focused on unique gimmicks.
  • low-res horror games.
  • text-adventures with a few twists.

But I'm open to brainstorming and experimenting with different ideas. I'm not limited to any art style or theme. Although most of my game dev experience so far has been in Unity. I do mostly hand-drawn art but I've also dabbled in pixel art and 3d modelling.

That is why I'm looking for a partner, or a small team of fellow devs and friends, to throw around ideas and eventually develop something unique!

Some of the indie games I appreciate and like taking inspiration from are:

  • House
  • The Coffin of Andy and Leyley
  • The Binding of Isaac
  • Kill It With Fire
  • Baba Is You

Finally, here are some of my finished projects:

You can DM me on discord: 'thedamon.' Looking forward to chatting!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you found it fun!
About the movement, in the first version I made, the game did actually allow you to hold down a key to move in that direction, but I found it to be more annoying than useful. It created really imprecise movement where you'd run straight into enemies and also the diagonal movement was really weird. But that was just my experience with it, maybe other people would enjoy it more that way, I'll consider looking into it further.

And about the animations, I'm not a very great pixel artist so I thought I'd keep things simple and not add many animations into the game, rather focusing on making it feel good. But I 100% agree it could be better with proper movement animations implemented.

I'm an indie game developer and have just published my little 4-days project on itch. It's got a pretty novel concept I haven't seen implemented in any game so far: building walls around yourself to fight back against enemies!

I'd be happy to hear any feedback you have, suggestions for new enemies and/or mechanics, or even ideas for new original concepts I could work on (or *we* could, together).

I'm always on the lookout for new artists to partner up with and people who could help brainstorm ideas!

Amazing game, playing it feels incredibly refreshing and satisfying!

I'm a programmer looking to help / join a team. I enjoy writing back-end code the most, but I'm fine with front-end as well. I've worked on a decent amount of projects over the years. I've got more experience scripting 2D games rather than 3D, but I can do both without any problems. I can also do different tasks such as animating, drawing, designing UI, but I'm most comfortable sticking to the scripting part.

I greatly enjoy a good challenge. Contact me if you're interested.

Hey, I'm a C# Unity programmer and I want to participate in this jam, but I don't have any original ideas or inspiration.

I have years of experience in game development, but I've never been able to finish a project due to burning out and losing motivation. I can make full use of the physics and tools provided by Unity.

If your team is looking for a Unity developer and programmer, or you simply have an idea for the jam and you'd want someone to make it happen, contact me on discord: Damon#7463

Our team is currently looking for a composer to help with our project, a 2D story-based game focused around the evolution and growth of certain characters. Each faces their own demons, having to overcome obstacles and go through the process of finding themselves.

There are different paths and decisions one can make: should I wear a mask and hide my true identity, or should I be myself around others, at the cost of damaging my mental health? Each decision threatens to radically change that character's perception on the world, the people that surround them.

The characters are smartly designed to reflect real problems that our society has. One is an overweight guy, looking for the friendship and approval of others and only getting laughs in return. Another one is simply a gay guy, that goes through a journey of self discovery, having to make existential choices at every point on his path. Or a teacher, that suffers from an extreme personality disorder, on the verge of being fired from his job.

Each character's story and path is expertly written by someone with unique life experience in that specific domain, none of them are unoriginal or contain any Clichés.

The world created is meant to reflect the protagonist's beliefs, problems, emotions, using key colors and suggestive music and sound effects.

We are looking for a composer that can capture and translate the emotions of the characters into music tracks, helping us reach our vision.

I'm a talented Unity C# programmer looking for a short-term project.

I can do pretty much anything the engine allows, from a simple platformer to a complex algorithm-based simulation. I am more experienced with 2D games, but I can easily do both 2D and 3D.

Just to make it clear, I do not want to work on some massive RPG or survival game, just a simple, original, little game, with one or two other people.

The position can be either paid or revshare based, as I am interested in both gaining more experience and making some quick money.

I'd prefer to work on the programming side solo, but that's negotiable.

If necessary, I can handle the publishing through my LLC company, Screambyte.

Hi,

I've been working on a 2D social deduction game  (similar to Among Us) in Unity for a few weeks. The programming's almost done, but I need help on the graphic side.

You can find details about the game and what's already been done here: http://forums.indiegamer.com/threads/rev-share-seeking-artist-s-for-mobile-pc-2d...

The characters and map assets are a combination of pixel-art and hand drawn graphics (mostly pixel-art), while the UI and tasks are entirely hand drawn. So don't hesitate to contact me if you can only do one of the two.
