I mean my solution is
1. Government takes the homes from landlords
2. Give the homes to homeless people
2 step program, pretty simple
The point is still, fewer and fewer people anywhere can afford a house
It isn't just CAI'm in Missouri, a Red State for a few Decades and you can *barely* afford a trailer with a well above average wage
