Hello,

I released a new gun SFX library and a royalty free track you can use in your indie game

https://tomciccone.itch.io/action-game-assets-guns-soundtrack

yes, you are fine. please just provide credit

A few years ago I made a soundtrack for various game jams and thought I'd repost it here for anyone that needs a quick high-quality song to throw on their game:

You can download the individual tracks here:

Hello!

I am an experienced composer and professional sound designer for films. You can see my work here:
https://tomciccone.com/portfolio

I've been self-teaching myself Unity level design and basic features through Unity Learn. I'm beginning to code and have been working on solo demo projects, with an emphasis on FMOD integration.

I really want to connect with any developer that is interested in working (and finishing) practice projects. My focus is on sound design features through FMOD, but I'm also interested in Wwise and  designing Unity scripts as I move forward.

I'm very self-motivated. I'm interested in people that follow through and want to complete their work. I'm not interested in feature-heavy projects or large ambitious teams that have no budget or publisher.

There's nothing wrong with those things. I'm just interested in finding developers that want to complete smaller ideas and move forward. If this sounds like you, please say hello! Thanks!

Ludipe,

Thank you so much for reaching out over email because I don't log in to itch very often and I see you responded to this promptly some days ago.

I am very  sorry for this silly misunderstanding and I can perfectly understand the intent behind your message now. Thank you  for reaching out and helping resolve this. I really appreciate it.

Wish you all the best,

Tom

I'm sorry, but I don't go on Itch very often, mostly because I tour a lot and when I'm home I focus more on making interactive soundscapes for other people's games.

So I posted a while ago on a thread for a game jam to offer to collaborate and make some sound/music assets for someone's game. Many days later, I noticed the user https://ludipe.itch.io/   just straight up trolled my post writing something like "Go find friends."

I get it, we put ourselves online at the risk of sounding silly or being trolled. However, I had the impression that Itch was a welcoming community of creators who wanted to collaborate, not shoot each other down.

To make it worse, this guy has a Patreon account and portrays himself as this amiable, easy-going indie dev guy. He's my age too, which is a little sad. I would have been more understanding if this guy was just some kid being a snot, but he's like 25....

Sorry to make this negativity into a thread, but I just thought I'd send a little warning out there in case you guys run into him during a game jam or GDC. The fact that he takes money from Patreons and then trolls other creators in his free time is so hypocritical.

Take care guys,

Tom Ciccone

By the way, I am also a musician. Here's some of my stuff:

Hey guys,

I love the idea of this jam. I'm always interested in making soundtracks and audio assets for devs, so feel free to contact me if you want to collaborate. Here's my email:

tomciccone34@gmail.com

I've also made a few games myself, mostly through Bitsy (although I do know how to read C#, I'm usually more focused on the audio side of things).

Hit me up!

Hey Guys,

I apologize since I posted this thread already in the "share" section. I just wasn't aware there was a specific area for release announcements.

So I just finished "Jung Campus," a retro style adventure game made using Adam Le Doux's pixel-based game engine.

https://tomciccone.itch.io/jung-campus

The game is only my second, since I usually work more specifically on soundtracks and sound design for other developers. But I love creating atmosphere and "Jung Campus" certainly has some fun exploration and puzzle aspects to it that I thought might pique some people's interest.

By the way, If you haven't had a chance to play with the engine please do.

Hey Guys,

Normally I just do soundtracks for games, but using Adam Le Doux's bitsy editor has made it easy for me to make fun little games.

This is my second one, called "Jung Campus."

https://tomciccone.itch.io/jung-campus

It's a game about a tech scrapper that goes exploring some abondoned college campus somewhere in the Pacific northwest. A fun little game with a decent puzzle featured for those that are up for the challenge.

Let me know if you enjoy the game, and give my page a follow if you want to be updated as I release soundtracks from past projects (I kind of want to sell my indie OSTs only through itch because itch is awesome and so is everyone that uses it    :P

It depends on what you want to do. I learned music first by playing in garage bands and then studying jazz music in college. There are lots of great resources for learning music through the internet, depending on the instrument you want to play. If you want to program music, there are great DAWs like Pro Tools, Ableton, and FL Studio that come with great instruments in-the-box to get started making music.

It really depends on what you want to do, and to be honest, most of the skill that comes from music is simply discovered on your own, through years of practice and exploration. Very little formal training ever helped me be a better musician. So just get started making music!

Hello,

So I thought I might as well make a post for my horror sound design library which I've made available through itch...

https://tomcaseymusic.itch.io/sound-design-for-horror

I got some useful feedback from creators and did an additional full master of all the sound effects. I also included both Mp3 and high quality Wav (96khz, 24 bit) versions of the files so no one has to fumble with a wonky browser app to convert their files.

This is my first library of sound design available on itch, but I will be releasing several more volumes over the coming weeks, so please feel free to follow me at https://tomcaseymusic.itch.io/

You can also contact me if you have any inquiries here:

tomcaseymusic@gmail.com

Happy Halloween!!

Hey Guys,

I'm a huge fan of all things October, and love making dark soundscapes and musical pieces,  so I'd really love to start a team if anyone is interested.

PS: I actually make a living as a writer (besides composing music for media), so I can certainly help out in that department too!

I actually just released my first compilation of horror-themed sound design on itch, you can check it out here:

Hey everybody,

Halloween is my favorite time of the year, and for a while I've been wanting to start my own library of sound design and music based around the horror genre.

https://tomcaseymusic.itch.io/sound-design-for-horror

I've done a lot of work for different films and indie games, and I thought this would be a great way to add something fun and maybe even inspiring to the game dev community. All of the sounds and music are free to use, I just ask that you provide my name in credits.

I love working with game devs on fun projects, no matter how small, so if you have a game in development and want something special for music or sound, let me know!

By the way, I'll be participating in the Halloween-themed game jam this year, and if you'd like to check out some of my past work, please go check out Dr. Jedd's game Mosaic. We made it during the music game jam last weekend and he's about to add a fantastic update as well.
