I have tried mapping out inputs via steam, but it essentially made Steam shit itself, like you said. What's more annoying is that if i play Resident Evil 0 (the remake) I have full PSC controller support, where as with this game It won't work. Super annoying.

I have a PS Classic USB based controller but i can't seem to get it working in-game, no idea why but the controller works fine in any other game.

Also wanted to know how hard would it be to get a PS Classic-able port for this, would be sick to run it on the PSC.
