this is such a wonderful game and with the new borovka premade village, it's easier than ever to start a game which i neeeeed to do bc ive been thinking about this game since i first read it years ago.

a lovingly researched historic folkloric game that invites you in but doesnt demand total adherence to the text and the historical reality.

ive only read the intro (top10 all time ttrpg intros) and skimmed the book but im obsessed and very excited to dig into the whole book tomorrow

picked this up from the big trans rights bundle, i love it. need to figure out how i can use it in a game but to start i really want to grab some of the black and white cards and color them in myself. love how they look like people and yet not. i feel like im decoding something

any chance of an update with a bookmarked pdf? or a cheatsheet of the barebones character creation and play rules? i really like this game based on my quick read but this book is a beast

Played this with two friends who hadn't read Ronja Robber's Daughter (my childhood favorite book) but the playbooks did a lot of work putting them in the headspace. It was so interesting how we had story beats that lined up with the book without them knowing but also stuff that completely diverged.

We found it a little difficult to structure the game because we weren't super used to Belonging Outside Belonging style games but still had a great time.

havent played this yet but since i downloaded and read through i wanted to comment while i remember and give you my first impressions.

i really like the nature/town/farm/villagers split, it perfectly hits that farming/life sim mood, and really liked that the season changes which action is easiest.

i kinda wish there was a readymade option for a shorter game, maybe playing on a week to week basis instead of day to day? but as said i havent tried it so im not sure how quick i want to "win"

it would be so cool with another one page expansion of oracles/random prompt tables, that would help spark ideas for me for sure. might be cool with a couple of readymade farm worksheets with problems already filled in as well.

glad i came across this, im such a farming enthusiast we need more farming rpgs now lol!!!

is there any easy way to play this digitally? i think it looks very interesting but i dont know anyone to meet up with and play it physically

got the game from a bundle, it seems like there is something wrong with the formatting, a lot of the lists have the items layered on top of each other like in this screenshot. other than that evocative and easy to read descriptions of the sea-woods

deeply inspiring game/tool. i've only read it, not tried it out for real, but it definitely made my brain spin. lately it's been on my mind how to get all players equally invested in the world and the story. yarnspinner is leading me in a new direction
