Hey thanks for playing and making a video! I'm still working on this game regardless of the outcome of the game jam and have already added quite a bit. Got a lot of helpful feedback too and keep in mind that this demo was really just to show off the overall feel of the story and basic mechanics/plugins. I played a lot of classic final fantasy games to get some inspiration!

Thanks for the post and playing the demo! I wish I had more time to add more too, but I figured that was a good stopping point for the demo. I was really working on the battle system and still haven't gotten it feeling just right. Didn't think I would make it in time to show it off, so I cut it short rather than have a broken ending. I'm still going to finish the game regardless of the outcome of the game jam as well!

Hey guys, I go by @Troctzul and I've recently submitted my demo for the game jam. Check out "Sword of the Magi" now and let me know what you think! Most of the plugins were found through http://www.yanfly.moe/wiki/Category:RPG_Maker_MZ_Core_Plugins but I also got some help from my brother who is also an RPGMaker.

I honestly didn't think I would take top myself, but I suppose having more ratings is what is important. There are a lot of great entries here. I simply sought as many players as possible. Either way, I hope all enjoyed the contest as much as I did! If anyone is interested in working with me on completing the game, I will be on the Discord and doing live development streams.

That I am looking into... it would seem that it is an issue with MV as it should automatically make the change. Didn't do anything special but use the Name Input option. I will test it out today and see what may be going wrong.

Thank you so much for playing and the feedback. I have corrected the redirect events in my version, as I forgot to add a stop page after the monster is defeated. The area with the ship was mostly intended to be the end of the demo, but I did go a little further. I intend to add either an ability that details what to do next, or add tips to the save points. Hope you decide to continue to follow production!

Thank you so much for playing! Yeah, I was working on balancing out the enemies but then the time was up so I had to turn in what I had lol. I will make sure to fix the cut scene and save ability for sure! Save points are there mainly for testing and can be removed before final release.  Hopefully will add plugins later that will display character names in important text.

True, the game is incomplete, and I made sure to mark that in the upload on the game page. I had obviously bigger ambitions than the time frame allowed, but it is a learning experience for us all. My intention is to complete the project over the coming weeks for a mid November release date. Thank you for playing, and best of luck! I honestly did like your game and it was something different from the usual RPG Maker game.

Interesting side-scrolling RPG with vibrant graphics. So cute for such a sad story!

The battlers appear to be way high up on the screen. You can drop them lower a bit :P
