I was also looking into a navmesh since santa was constantly getting stuck in the sprites but that was rather difficult in unity for 2D sprites without any additional plugins.

Thanks for playing and your feedback. I found the problem. Santa has to little mass and gets pushed around by enemies and can get kicked around by the player. BUT you can actually overtake him with the player and try to catch him by standing infront of him! Its not a bug its a feature! :D No just kidding. I fixed it in a later version by setting the rigid body mass to 500.

We did a lot of playtesting but could not fix all bugs in time due to our inexperience with the engine. Two hours ago I fixed the Santa bug being pushed around by making him chunky (setting his mass to 500) :D But it was to late for the jam. 

We will definitely try to further develop this game. It was so much fun :)
