You Play As Gourmet Guy

5 stars all categories He won the whole dang thing.

Ok but let's get to it. The creator of Thamz in a wheelchair comes back with another brain teaser of a hack to make you think outside the box. I really like hacks like these, the smaller hacks that play around with cool ideas and concepts and moreso focus on making the player engage directly than using the game own gameplay loop. it was very interesting and I really enjoyed the text box battle system with how funny it can be!

Plus yea playable gourmet guy, what else do you need really?

So this was an interesting Idea.

The idea behind this hack is to make it more of a regular cooking sim using the peach mini -game but make it the core focus and using different recipes and feeding gourmet guy. It wasn't too worked out as he couldn't set up too much and probably needed a little more time but it was a cool idea and he has the base for a really cool hack if he continues it (also tossing in the bowser fight with little skips and cake puns was really cool)

I respect the hustle so it was a good time!

My Pals FEW! and DEN It's always a treat to play a hack produced by these two jokers.

So this hack is a pretty strong contender, it felt like a chapter length hack with a whole new map and a collection mission that takes you through a few loading zones and enemy encounters as well as stores and hidden items and badges. This was just done very well and really felt straight up out of the base game with how the tone and writing was done (as well as an amazing cutscene ) It felt like the longest hack and was even able to showcase some cool map tricks and camera angles.

Loved it to crumbs!

Oh man, this was a trip! BIS fans were eating good today!

This Hack is sorta a small side story that continues BIS in a fun interesting way in the PM universe.  This is a such a cool hack idea because it recreates the BIS feel so well and I was giddy for everything I saw. The returning NPCs, The baddies retooled into PM baddies and the boss was done so well! The mod even was able to capture the non-RPG moves for some small puzzles and platforming normally seen in the Mario and Luigi series. We just needed playable Bowser and it would have been 10/10 but seriously, it felt like everyone was done so perfectly, the maps and sprites were SO GOOD!

Was Great, would get eaten by Bowser again!

This Mod was made by JackitK, A modder I am not too familiar with but glad to see his work.

The idea behind this mod is very nintendo-like and fits well within the Mario RPG setting, A expedition into a island made of sweets using the Chapter 5 area was clever and fitted well. The Map itself wasn't too different but there was so many little text changes and dialog changes all over the place. There was a lot of work to sell the concept on paper. The real changes were the redesigned baddies as well as partners and new attacks. It was refreshing playing through chapter 5 Jungle hunt while testing all the new attacks and even really worked in a very cool elemental system for one of the new partners. I LOVED some of the new attacks and the interaction with baddies and the elemental system and hope to see this in a full hack soon!

This was a fun romp and worth a playthrough to see my boi RUSH!

Oh Dexter, I am a big fan of this modder so I was so excited to play this mod myself!

The mod itself is based off the main gameplay loop of "Overcooked" which is a frantic arcade cooking sim that let you cook dishes for orders under a time limit. It uses Peach and all her little cooking animation in the base game and the translation is  super well. Obviously, Dexter custom coded lots of little details and gameplay stuff to make it work well and it came off soo fun. I replayed it a few times just to beat my high scores. It really showcases Dexter flexibility as a modder to make this RPG to a whole different type of game!

I loved it and it turned out to be one of my personal favorites in the jam!
