Intro
I'm Justin, I've been a .Net developer for 10 years now or so. I've been of-and-on trying to make a game for...pretty much ever, but I always got hung up on what tools I should use, and what I should learn. This looks like a dead-simple and easy program to put simple graphics and text on the screen, and I don't need to get into the tooling weeds to get something out there. Also I'd like to make something serious with a more dynamic language, to get out of my little C# world.
Dev machine:
With this, I'll probably use my 15" Macbook 2014, got it refurbished and it's been a workhorse for me. I bring home the bacon on my Windows machine, but working with Ruby in Windows is generally Not Fun, so Mac it is!
Top 10 Games:
- Harvest Moon 64
- Hyper Light Drifter
- Destiny
- Total War
- Stellaris
- Sonic 3 & Knuckles
- Diddy Kong Racing
- Dawn of War II
- Ocarina of Time
- Journey
Languages I know:
- C#
- Javascript
- Clojure
- Python
- Ruby
- SQL
- C/C++
- Rust (kinda)
- Haskell (kinda)
- Erlang (kinda)
I've dipped my toes into a ton of languages and software, only to abandon it later when some other shiny thing caught my eye.
