Rad, congrats on getting this demo out there!

Congratulations on the project!

Woot woot!

Rad! Congratulations on getting to this point! I hope you’re getting playtest feedback. I’ve added this to my list to check out.

A crimes against humanity version is acceptable in the name of gameplay SCIENCE! :)~

Heck yeah, congratz on the release!

Rad, congrats on the release!

Thank you for the feedback! It was a real treat to work with Chris on the album, and it's our fourth video game soundtrack that we've done together. This one is extra special since Chris trusted me to dig into his work (especially from the Turrican days) and my game to create this inspiration.

You can listen to the whole album here:

Chris released it on Bandcamp, and people are really losing their minds over it :) https://chrishuelsbeck.bandcamp.com/album/interstellar-sentinel-soundtrack

I love this soooooo much, keep up the great work!

Nice!

Nice job on the update & release!

Good stuff, keep going!

Wow, you just made my day! Thank you for such a wonderful write-up and for playing! There is more to come, as I am finishing up the Boss Rush mode with rogue-like item/enemy choices, too.

Fantastic, thank you!

Great, overall, and thank you for the replies. I'm looking forward to seeing the new updates for the packs to come!

Great pack, thank you! It's a bit strange to have sprite sheets and individual frames separate. Usually, asset packs contain the individual frames and sheets together. It's not a huge deal since I can slice the sheets back into frames pretty easily, though.

Woohoo, the free Interstellar Sentinel demo is live! It was actually a bunch of fun to put together, and I think it gives a good example of what the game offers!

Neat! Way to go on the release buddy!

These are great, thanks!

Hello everyone!

I recently released my first indie game, Interstellar Sentinel, which I would describe as my love letter to shmups (shoot'em up, action arcade shooters) that I have spent a lifetime playing. This has been a passion project that I frankly got tired of waiting for someone to give me permission to design and direct. It also represents the outcome of a close community of playtesters and friends, many of which have never played a shmup. This last point is great because I wanted to create a fun intro experience (dynamic difficulty) for players discovering the genre for the first time.

Here is my most recent playthrough:

Here is a demonstration of the weaponry system (weapon switching is a core part of the game loop).

Thank you for checking out my game!

Build 2.0.2 Changes:

  • Fixed a crash on boot for Steam Deck users, apologies for the regression
  • Fixed a bug where the player starting health was set to 1hp instead of 3

Thank you, everyone, for playing and reporting!

Woohoo, I'm getting better at uploading builds here and to Steam! Thanks everyone for the support!

Thanks for the write-up, super helpful!
