I wanted to share that my typing defense game, Kana Seito Defense, has officially released and the game will be 20% off for 2 weeks starting today! The game introduces you to Japanese kana (hiragana and katakana) as well as Kanji.

Each level within the game, you'll be given a set of kana to memorize and your goal is to take down all enemies containing kana that spawn. So if you're interested in learning Japanese or know someone who is, this game will serve as a great addition to the Japanese learning journey.

The web build should be good to go! I'll release it here when the game releases on Steam.

EDIT: Ah, so i just realized all web builds on itch.io will automatically be free which is unfair to users on Steam so unfortunately I can't upload the web version. However, I did upload the Windows/MacOS files if you are interested.

I'll make an effort to see if I can make a web version. I think I definitely should be able to. I'll keep you posted.

Hi everyone! I made a Japanese typing game with Unity that tests your learning and memorization of the English romanization of Japanese Hiragana. Enemies spawn with a Hiragana letter/word on top of them and move in a given path. Your goal is to be able to type the correct romanization before they get to the end of the path. The game is in progress so any constructive feedback/suggestions are welcome!

There is also a dictionary feature where you can search up any hiragana by typing English characters!
