Yeah, adding checkpoints is definitely something to consider; for now game over screen force you to refresh the page, but you can save your game and resume for there during the exploration phase, so you could potentially save just before the night begin if you want to try again until you win.

Very cute doodles for a very interesting concept! I would absolutely play more of this over a longer experience if this get expended at some point.

Only slight criticism is that you can't really know what to do before getting the hint, which can leave you with a few moments with nothing to do while waiting for the hint to pop, but at least this give the opportunity to appreciate the scenery :)
