The game only starts when you connect a gamepad/controller to it

If there's  enough interest

Awesome! I'm very pleased with how many decided to show up.I'm planning to run another in April

Haha, awesome!

Please alpha test :,(

Otherwise, it looks great

This is epic! I love the models and it's not too long or too short. My only complaint is that the lighting calculation is incorrect (Looks like the world matrix x position order was wrong).

Otherwise 10/10

Destroying rainbows gives me dopamine!

Excellent work with the themes!  There are a lot of mechanics packed into this tiny game. Overall quite impressive!

Haha, I like it!

Awesome!!  I wonder how you calculate the score. It's impressive.

A couple of little ideas: Randomize the player colors and having a charged attack would be neat.
Now I want to make a game like this

Neat! I stopped after  100 kills

Very cool!  I love the sounds, the lighting, the noise, and the distortion underwater. I only see one theme though.
Overall I'm impressed.

My highscore is 46176!

Use a surface!

Gotcha. The demo map size is gigantic. It can be reduced to a smaller size for more reasonable performance

Thanks! There's a settings file included in the project folder. Just change that to creative and rerun the game.

Thanks?

Thanks!

This is an original concept. It feels a bit like Pacman in an open dungeon.

There are quite a few enemies packed into a few levels so nothing feels overused; each level is fresh. It's quite challenging and takes a bit to master.

Overall, I quite like it. What an amazing first game! I can't wait to see what you'll make next

Nope

That's crazy good! I wish there were more blocks to build with though!

YoYo Games got back to me this morning and the GMS 2 Ulitmate prize winner is
... *drum roll*...

Calmcraft   by   Shortbread
AND
DINK ISLANDS   by    ZIK

YYG was kind enough to give out two copies for their top two favorite games!  I wanna give a big thanks to YYG for choosing to support this jam!
Thanks again to everybody who participated and reviewed the games

One more thing!   As you probably heard, Opera GX is hosting a huge game jam ($20K in prizes!), so if you're still hungry for more jams, you don't wanna miss it!

Thanks dude

Here are my 10 favorite entries of this jam along with some short comments.

1: Calmcraft - Shortbread, very well polished, a technical masterpiece.
2: DINK ISLANDS - ZIK, a creative concept only ZIK could make!
3: Minecraft but it's RTS - Patrik Kraif, impressive work, and a good idea.
4: Minecraft But Actually Not - Little Penguin Studios, simple and well done.
5: Diamond Miner Microgame - baku, Fun little game. Only needs a scoring system.
6: BIT BLOC - Antidissmist, Cute game!
7: Mine? Cards! - MMagnusson, A strategic card game for Minecraft? I'm a fan
8: Wanderlust - kaleatra, 2D Minecraft with a bunch of features!
9: Minecraft Bootleg - LelGD, Fighting zombies all night!
10: Just a floating island - Liem, Title says it all.

Thanks, everybody for participating with such short notice! A 96-hour jam is a real challenge, let alone 24-hours and with less notice.
I'm very pleased with all the entries and I'm amazed to see so many 3D voxel engines with GameMaker! It's great that this field is getting some attention.
Hope you had ya'll had fun

That'd be neat! I imagine spiders could climb walls

Cool concept. Unfortunately, the ship controls felt very loose and enemy ships are a pain to fight.
With some tweaks this could be epic

Cool use of theme. I wish there were more things to explore and resources to gather. The game is over too quickly!

Neat! It'd be cool to have block placement and different enemies.

It seems to be a bit too easy to survive.

I like the attention to detail, like the dirt menu background, the sounds, water slowing you down, etc. Cool stuff

Simple and neat. I like that you can build out infinitely (as far as I can tell).

I ran into some collision intersection issues under the island though

I like the hazy look. It appears the camera pitch is a bit funky (unnormalized?)

Cubes/10

Congrats! Lots of great games came out of this.
I wanna shout out   Lucent Depths  by Sarek Lambert. It's my favorite game and I played it for hours so definitely play it if you haven't yet

Not much to do?

I'll be releasing a video along with the source code soon!

That's cool! 2D marching cubes! I love that and the map appears to be infinite (even up?!?)

Great work. My only complaint is that after a while, the jump boosts and  movement speed become too much

In HTML5 it generated empty three times so I assumed it was broken, but it worked in further testing!
Generation takes about 4-7 seconds for me.

As for feedback, it looks like a good base for a game, just needs some more content!

Wow. I'm legit impressed by all the features you were able to pack in.  Collisions, chunking, generation, light shader, lava shader with transparency and in only 12 hours?! Amazing work

Cool use of the theme. I like the low gravity and that you use block breaking time to generate chunks. It'd be nice to click and hold for breaking multiple objects
