That happens for me with planks, sticks and seeds
If you cut down the grass and then go to try to pick up the item really fast it might work
So I tried to move the villiage somewhere else and the folk acted like thery were still in a house, except the counter isnt showing them being in the house
Is there currently anyway to get rid of grass so I can build buildings there?
Currently, if they arent connected by the shallow water (lighter blue) there is no way
