I would rather wait for something than pressure for something that might not happen. So many similar games get canned, stuck in permanent purgatory, or just aren't up to par quality wise compared to the expectation set by earlier updates. I'll even pull out the famous and overused quote "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad"

This is very well thought out and the characters are compelling. I love the progression of getting different powers and seeing their applications in different elements of the story as well as how they can interact with each other. And the different moral alignments while not a huge difference as of yet seem like they'll play an interesting role later as they become more important.
I only recently found this so I didn't know about those problems with Eiko and her story. While I've already made it clear I like Avis the most if there were a number 2 for me it might just be Eiko because of how interestingly developed as a character she is. Like I want to learn more and it seems like she'll play an interesting role in the bigger story regardless of your choices regarding her (but probably even more so if you pick her so its an enticing option)
That bug doesn't affect your ability to play the game at all and also can be easily avoided or possibly not even encountered in the first place by some players. I know exactly the kinds of bugs mentioned in the comment above and I agree it used to be very bad to the point entire sections weren't playable, but it has been fixed since the newest version. Point is you can play the game now unlike before just don't expect everything to be 100% stable until a full release is available.
A lot has been added since I last played, but a lot of bugs as well that are making the game borderline unplayable and very unstable. As mentioned in another comment the options are not displaying correctly. And I always get an exception error if I click the "To Ask" option. The game also seems to be prone to crashing at times. I never had any of these issues before so I'm hoping these things will be fixed with time and it'll be back to how it was before. It ran fine before.
My bad I follow a lot of games on here that are indeed free (but get the newer updates later than patreon). The point stands that we're comparing a game that is 10$ to triple A titles usually priced 6-to 7x more than that, have entire studios, and more total sales from a much wider audience. These types of games are usually made by a small group of people, or even one man, that might have to hire other people to help. 10$ is pretty damn cheap by today's standards.
The comparison doesn't fail because while those are finished games they also cost money to buy in the first place. This is a completely free game unless you choose to support. Its not like it doesn't get updated regularly either. I'd have doubts if there had been no updates and they're just constantly making more dlc to get money for a game they likely will never finish. People complaining just want to have their cake and eat it too. You can't expect everything to be free in a game you're already not paying for, these people have to be compensated for their work and make a living too. Not everyone who wants to support can afford to pay monthly on patreon.
Bro fuck these entitled people they expect you to do work without being paid. I'm not paying for skins and I'm fine with that, but I'm grateful for all the people who do and support on Patreon. These people are completely clueless to the fact that the majority of these free itch.io games they digest are free because of these people that support it.
Even at it's current state this is a pretty impressive and uniquely immersive experience. I would say structure it however you need to in order to not get stuck in development hell where nothing is finished for a long time, surely leading to a feeling of being burnt out. Smaller more bite sized pieces should give a better sense of progress and accomplishment. I hope you're able to figure something out that works for you as I really would like to see more of this game!
The first time I played I wanted to test what dying was like so I let the first enemy kill me. My computer coincidentally completely crashed and turned off right when it happened. Made it a lot more eery immersive experience to say the least...
Edit: upon testing again I think the game itself just crashes my computer. I think it might have to do with fullscreen. Might be something to look into if others are having issues.
I could 100% be wrong, but if it goes the slightly lighthearted humorous route I think its Chang at the door. I'd go into detail why I think that but it could be spoilery if someone's just scrolling through the comments. Also I'd say if you played all the way through there are pretty obvious reasons it could be him.
Just be patient. This dev is really good about getting updates out and actually FINISHING their game. I've played a lot of games like these and Once in a Lifetime (this devs other game) was finished while most of the others I've played are STILL being worked on, even ones started way before that game.
Dude, Once in a Lifetime was amazing. I'm really excited to see you're working on another game.
Edit: Downloaded and played through the current version shortly after posting this comment. All the characters are pretty good, but I can see why you chose Luna as the sort of poster girl of this (at least on the wallpaper here on itch.io) definitely best girl in my book.
You guys are awesome! I've been following this for awhile and with each update it really feels like you guys read all the player feedback. While not a stat system (though I still think one would be great) the service perks thing adds a little depth and progression in a similar vein. Also it's probably just coincidence, but I commented previously about really wanting to see Toshiko and as of this review she's been added! Keep up the good work, it really makes this game stand out from others of this genre.
I'm kinda curious, this has a dating sim/persona feel to it, but it lacks something both have: Stats. I was wondering if social stats were in the works of being added because I think it would give the player other things they can do during the day than talk to girl or manage hotel then go to sleep. It would also just go really well with the fact they go to the university as it makes it so it shows you are going to your classes and you're benefiting from it. Stats could help your grow faster with certain girls too and maybe even some could help with hotel stuff.
I'm not at all affiliated with the developers. I'm like you just very interested in the game. If you go to their twitter or patreon I think was where I found it. They had posted an update saying that while it was planned to come out this month (obviously that didn't happen) they will have to delay to polish it up, but they said everything is basically done. So hopefully maybe late next month.
The character artwork is great and the background art even better. The player ui looks nice and polished. The opening cinematic looked great. Didn't get to see a lot of the combat or other game play mechanics to know completely what it'll be like when its complete. Overall the demo made me very excited to see what the full game will be like! I'll definitely follow future projects if this ends up good!
