I decided to create a video showing how I went about creating my first indie title SlideToSurvive, thought that you guys might find it interesting to see my method for creating games.

Quick Background

After spending years building an engine, I am now finally developing games using my tech.

Hope you get a kick out of it. If you like it, let me know and I will make more.

5 years ago I decided to write my own engine in C++. I am so excited to say that I have just released my first game based on that technology, I am so proud to be able to paste this link to a game I coded, coloured, recorded and deployed myself https://yesindiedee.itch.io/sildetosurvive

Full release is now available, there is also a free demo so you can give it a go.

If you are interested in how the concept was created there is also a little behind the scenes development video on the game page.

I hope you you have fun!

James

It's time to add some more interesting physics to the game.

This next video installment I tackle some collision detection. Why not see if the video below has collision detection by pressing play? ;)

It's time to make things look a bit better. It's time to add some lighting!!

I have decided to develop my latest prototype 100% transparently.

I am developing a small arcade game in 10 episodes and releasing them to my Youtube channel. The videos are for anybody who is interested in how a developer creates games, especially developers from the not so known world of custom engines and tools.

This is a new idea and would love to hear feedback.

First 3 episodes are already available!

Ep 1 - Introduction and creating the project

Ep 2 - Scripting basic player movement

Ep3 - Making and animating asteroids

Thanks! Hopefully get part 3 out tomorrow :D

Hey everyone, brand new to Itch and releasing my work in general. Already finding this a really cool site!

Been developing for years and was in the AAA world for a while. Since then sold everything to live the dreams of being creative.

Released my first prototype on here, you can find it here: Is This A Game

Currently working on a new prototype and documenting my development in a video dev log: Escape Earth and First Video Dev Log

Glad to meet you all :D

Lets be Twitter friends :D

Hey,

Thanks for the reply :) Cool to know I just wasn't missing something obvious! Just implemented a little prescreen for now.

Cheers :D

This is my first public released title. All feedback is great..

Did the program install correctly? Did it run? Did you enjoy it?

AND THANKS!

When I install through the app my setup is run silently and the license agreement is skipped. I have taken the download down until I can get this fixed. Does anybody know if I can force this to show, or un-silence the installer. It appears to be an itch feature so surely I'm missing something?

Also, hello I'm new here!

If it runs for you, please please please, let me know, I'll be able to sleep.
